Wind plays role
The GDCI Senior Vikings marred their perfect season
Tuesday with a 1-0 loss to undefeated Listowel in a soccer
game played here in Goderich. The Vikings gave Listowel
the strong wind advantage in the first half and held them off
the board but then missed several excellent scoring oo-
portunities in the second half and gave up a late goal to lose
the match. Here the Goderichgoaltender (2) goes high over
a Viking forward to bat this Goderich corner kick out of
harms way. (staff photo)

Two unidentified Goderich Junior Viking soccer players
move in on the ball in last Tuesday's afternoon contest
against Listowel played at GDCI. The Vikings took an
undefeated record into the game and used the strong wind
advantage.in the second half to pump in two goals and grab
a 3-1 win. Paul Helesic broke a 1-1 tie in the middle of the
last half to score the winner and Randy Little added an
insurance marker to boost the Vikings to the win. (staff
