Hickey, daughter of Mr, and
Mrs. Joe Hickey 'and to Joe
Phelan of Blyth who were
married by the Reverend
.Father Ed Uentingcr, C.R. in
the St. Augustine Roman
Catholic church on Friday
evening, April 29. Several
from this area attended the
wedding reception held in the
Blyth Community Centre
with music for dancing
supplied by the Bluewater
Playboys.
Sincere sympathy is ex-
tended . to the family and
friends of the late Muriel
Parrish who passed away
suddenly on Saturday, April
3o at her late residence 103
Waterloo Street, Goderich in
her t;Oth year. Her body
rested at the Stiles Funeral
Chapel, Goderich where
funeral service was held on
Mondayafternoon, May 2 at 3
p.m. Interment was in the
Greenhill Cemetery,
Lucknow.
Mrs. Jack VanOsch suf-
fered a slight stroke while she
and Mr. VanOsch visited with
their daughter and son-in-
law, Mr.' and Mrs. Maurice
Schuurmans in London. Mrs.
* VanOsch was admitted to the
Wingham and District
General Hospital on Thur-
sday, April 28. We wish her a
speedy recovery.
Ralph Austin, who has been
holidaying at the home of his
parents Mr. and Mrs, John
Austin and family, and Mr.
.Ii)hn Henderson who has been
holidaying at the home of his
parents Mr. and Mrs. Jim
dlenderson of Lucknow since
Good Friday, April 8,
returned to. Calgary, Alberta
on Sunday, May 1. They were
accompanied by Mark
Lalonde of Kingsbridge; Leo
Redmond of St. Augustine;
and Reinhardt Voelmle of
Auburn.
Sister M. Gilbert Bethany,.
Antigonis(7, Nova Scotia and
Mr. and Mrs, Dan Weiss of
Formosa, Ontario visited on
Thursday, April 28 with
brother Carl Voll.
Mr; Art Dalton and son
Brian.' of Hamilton visited on
the weekend with Mr, and
Mrs. Joe Courtney and
family..

students.

Dalton) Chilton and son

spending a couple of weeks
vacation at the home of her
mother Mrs. Mark Dalton
and family.while her husband
Eddie is attending classes'
this week at the University of

Stratford and her mother

Gaderich visited on Sunday
afternoon with the latter's

SCHOOL NEWS
Pupils from St. Joseph's
school at Kingsbridge have
been active this past week at
the 50th annual Stratford
Music Festival held at St.
John's church, Stratford.
Christine Stapleton won
first prize in the girls' solo (10
year's and under), Dennis
Foran won first prize in the
boys' solo t ; years and under)
with Paul VanRooy winning
second prize in the same
class.
Maureen Stapleton and
Angela Foran won third
prizes in the girls' solo class 8
years • and under.
Congratulations.
Casey Hendriks had the
school Monopoly Tournament
ready to go Monday, May
He says that the tour-
nament will last for about two
weeks..
Senior girls' handball has
started but as of yet there are
no results.
The Goderich soccer
tournament for local
elementary schools has been
reschedule for Saturday,
May 7 in Goderich and the
students are working toward
this day ' in physical
education. The cold weather
postponed an exhibition game
against Brookside but the
game was played on Monday,
Mav2,
Miss Joanne Hamilton,
Grade seven teacher has been
named as a member of the
Huron -Perth Schools sport
council for. the forthcoming
school year. •
St. Joseph's Kingsbridge
has a display of student work
at the Dublin office of the
Huron -Perth Board. All
grades are represented.
Wednesday, May 11 is
kindergarten orientation day
where' next y'ear's kin-
dergarten students come to
school for the day. Mrs.
Riegling then introduces the
children to the school and its
ways.
First Holy Communion is to

be held at St. Joseph's Parish
Church on Sunday on Sunday,
