Back from Trip
Barb and Alvin Betties just
returned from a very in-
teresting five week holiday in
the Sunny South. Didn't get
away from snow until they
reached Tennessee. Ken-
tucky had three inches of the
white stuff.
Instead of staying on high-
way 75 they took a side trip to
Plains, Ga., President
Carter's hometown. This
small town has been tran-
sformed into a tourist at-
traction over night. Several
blue birds were sighted in this
area.
From here they went to the
capital of Florida, Tallahasee
toured the state capital,
journeying down the gulf
coast they 'found the David
Yulle sugar mill memorial,
very , interesting and also
Hanassa Springs. In Tarpan
Springs, they visited Eve
Harvey and Mrs. Bill Irish. At
Lakeland a Ofew days were
spent with Arabelle Bushell.
The Strawberry Festival in
Plant City was enjoyed and
the parade was two and a half
hours long, an excellent
parade of bands and floats. A
daytrip to Anna Mariea and
Bradenton was very en-
joyable. Over to the East
coast to visit Mr. and Mrs.
Ben Weston was a reunion for
Ben and Alvin as they had not
seen each other for 35 years.
Staying at the Savannah
Camp grounds, they were
able to stay a few days with
Donna and Harold Tyndall
and Edith and Orland
Johnston. Leaving Miami, the
flight to San Juan, Puerto
Rico was delightful. Eight
