The stands were full at the
community centre on Sunday
to watch Elmira and
Willowdale come out on top at
the K incardine Oldstars
hockey tournament,.
Willowdale defeated
Kincardine Y-0 to win the
cvn ,elation honors and
Elmira clowned Seaforth 3-1
to win the championship.
Kincardine was put into the
consolation with an early
morning defeat at the hands
of Port Elgin, who won the
game '-0.
Although Owen Sound was
ineligible to play for a trophy
because of under age players,
Kincardine put 100 percent
into their second game of the
day, despite being automatic
wine&rs.
Owen Sound took an early
lead but the Oldstars came
hack, almost to win the game.
After three Owen Sound
goals in the first period„ --
forts, Owen Sound tied it up 4-
4 at the end of the third,
forcing penalty shots to break
the tie. Qwen Sound managed
to get two out of five shots
past Kincardine goalie

identified at Roll Call at the
April meeting of the Circle
City CB Club, Goderich and
District. The gathering took
place April _3, 1977, at the
Canadian Legion in Goderich.
Following the secretary's
report, the social committee
chairman First Mate (Don
Henry) advised that although
a final figure had not yet been,,
arrivedat, the recent club
dance was a success and that
shortly the donation to the
Children's Ward of the
Alexandra Marine Hospital

a minute to go to make it 4-3
but even though they had
their goalie pulled, the Li'l
Kinucks held them off. Peter
Pinoudis again had to come
off the bench as Bobby
Hickey, was unable to con-
tinue after the first period. He
made some outstanding --
saves.
Captain Burton was
presented with the Heather
Leigh Shoppe trophy and he
led his team in the trium-
phant parade around the ice.
Brad Regier played out-
standing on defence as he
stopped many rushes.
Elmira won the Carl Wilken
Plaque as consolation
champions when the
defeated Milverton 5-3 in the
final. It was their second,,
consolation award in a week
as they won in Plattsville as
well. Other tourney scores
were: Goderich 9 - Hanover
I : Walkerton 6 - Milverton 0;
Byron - Listowel 1; Elmira 5
- Hanover 0; Milverton 4 -
Listowel 3 (penalty shots
decided the winner) and
Byron 3 - Walkerton I .
Peter Pinoudis won the
goalie trophy in tffe shootoff
and Craig Crummer of
Listowel was the top shooter.

support to assist with the
club's participation. Also
during Radio Day - July 4,
1977, a rally will be held along
with a display on radio
operations. The club will
participate along side of the
Bluewater Amateur Radio
Club and the committee
headed by Midnite Raider
(Dave Harrison) was open for
good ideas on the format.
The club's vice-president,
Uncle Tom (Tom Gillis), who
chaired the meeting, advised
the club of the meeting of six
radio operators from
Michigan who visited and
stayed three days in the
Circle City at the homes of
Trapper (Ken Scheerer),
Willy's Knight (Tony
Whelan),, ..and Little Foxy
(Dave Fox). A coffee break
party was held Friday,
March 18, 1977, at the
Trapper's home where forty-
five Side Band Operators
gathered to meet and ratchet -
jaw with the visitors.
Uncle 'tom also informed
the membership that he
checked for everyone's in-
formation and found that 24
hour emergency monitoring
is not done in the local area by
the enforcement agency and
that London is the closest
point 09 is monitor by the,
OPP for 24 hour assistance
calls.
A personal problem was
then voiced by one of the
membership indicating the
names of other radio
operators and after a short
airing, the membership voted
that if problems are to be
brought oat, it must be done
in general and that no one or
group of persons are to be
mentioned publicly.

Keith Pladsen won the
magnum of champagne
draw.
Keith Davidson scored the
first Kincardine goal of the
day, assisted by .J.C. Bastien
and Rysty Milatz. The second
marker came from Bastien,
assisted by Norm Mallette.
The Kincardine scoring
drive continued in the second
period with goals from Paul
Pickett, assisted by Jack
Crozier and Addie Bulzgis
and an unassisted effort by
Claude Morin.
