As the executive director of
the Association, Don Cam-
pbell is also responsible for
its other programs including
the Huron Hope Day Nursery
in Grand Bend and the Huron
Hope School within the
McCurdy Public School'
system - the first integrated
school in Ontario. In the latter
facility, adults in their
thirties and forties can obtain
an education that was
previously denied to them.
Also under his jurisdiction
is the 28 James Street
Residence in Exeter. In the .
future, the Association hopes
to obtain a building that the
employees can renovate to
serve as another residence
for ARC participants.
As a result of spending cut-
backs, all the recreational
activities within the
workshop were cancelled.

ARC Industries has come a
long way since 1973. Unlike an
average business, the
workshop must maintain a
balance between
rehabilitation and produc-
tivity. Don Campbell cites the
instructors for their energy,
creativity and dedication.
"The reivards of in-
volvement in ARC can't all be,
measured in dollars and
cents," he adds.
Meanwhile, the employees
are able to develop their skills
and their self-confidence;
they learn to function in-
dependently in the com-
munity. Integration into
society rather than exclusion
is stressed in the ARC
program. Instead of having
special work projects
designed for them, they are
integrated into already
existing services, and many
ARC participants will
eventually compete in the
open labour market.

"We would be working

branch of the society," the
motion noted. "The society
could provide transportation,
some supplies, plus provide
good contact with the new
ostomates and general
public."
To achieve these goals the

Register kindergarten Children:
It was an historic day for
., the Clinton and District
Christian School on Thur-
sday, March 17 when for the
first time in their 15 years of
existence invited parents to
the school to register for
kindergarten.
The decision to introduce a
kindergarten to the school
was made at the general
society meeting held on
February 28, 0,ancl the board
has been entertaining ap-
plications for the new
teaching position and at the
same time has been looking
into the possible enrolment
for this class.
The principal, Ralph
Schuurman, described first
day registration results as
"Going beyond all my ex-
pectations'. I expected
perhaps 20 to enrol. Imagine
my surprise when by noon we -
had enrolled 25 pupils for
kindergarten". He added that
he anticipated at least two or
three more registrations in
the next few weeks.
Asked whether the Board
had considered the possibility
of having two kindergarten
classes, he said that they had
not as yet thought it
necessary to discuss that
eventuality, but he hinted
that if the expected two or
three more pupils were to
materialize, two classes
would be very likely.
It was a teacher who
summed up the events of the
day. He explained that the
success of the day was all the
more gratifying in the light of
the general call today to, not
only basic education, but also
to an education which
stresses the inculcation of
those social, moral and
religious values taught at
home.
"Perhaps he said,
"today's registration can be
seen as a show of confidence
in the school by, not only our
present members, but also by
those newly introduced to the
system."
