Lions drop playoff. series
Byron scored three goals in
the final period to oust the
Goderich Lion Peewees out of
OMHA action with a 6-4
victory in Vanastra Sunday.
The win was the. second ,
straight over .Goderich and
boosted Byron to second
round OMHA action following
their sweep of the best -of -
three series.,
Byron overcame a two goal
Goderich lead in the first
game played in Byron last
Thursday, scoring six goals
over the final two periods to
win the game 6-2.
Goderich took a two -goal
first period lead on goals by
Scott Ross and Dennis Kerr
before Byron tied the score in
the second period on goals by
Bill Weitzel and Kevin Dunn
just 14 seconds apart. Byron
then scored four goals in the
final period for the victory.
Dale Gibbon and Kevin
Dunri scored two goals each
for Byron.
Byron had to come from
behind -with three goals in the
final period to eliminate
Goderich from OMHA
playoffs in the second game.

The GDCI senior girls
volleyball team lost' two
straight games to South
Huron of Exeter Monday
eliminating them from fur-
ther competition in the
Huron -Perth finals in St.
Mary's today.
Exeter downed the
Goderich seniors 15-8 and 17-
15 and spoiled any chances
the team had of making the
playoffs. Goderich later
dumped Seaforth in two
straight games, 15-9 and 15-11
to finish the season with 14
points, three out of first place.
The junior volleyball team
was more successful as they
downed both Seaforth and
Exeter to grab a playoff spot.
The junior girls finished
second to F.E. Madill of
Wingham in the standings but
earned a berth in the Huron -
Perth final in St. Mary's
today.
Clinton won the senior
division with 17 points while
Wingham was second with 16
points. The two teams will
represent the Huron division

held February 9 at the Clinton
at the Clinton Arena;•.
Kim Morais passed the
Tango and Michele Harris
passed the American Waltz.
Skaters from the local club
attended a test day held in
Listowel. February 20th.

second goal of the game in the

Goderich a two goal lead.
Shortly after Graham's
goal Goderich lost the ser-
vices of two players as Dave
MacDonald and Scott Ross
were ' given game miscon-
ducts. McDonald was ejected
for a high sticking infraction
and Ross for fighting. Each
player was also assessed
seven minutes in penalties.
Byron capitalized on the
manpower advantage scoring
one goal in the second period
and Potter scored two goals
early in the third period to
give Byron the. lead 5-4.
Gibbon added an insurance
marker at 9.43. -
Potter lead the Byron of-
- fense with three goals while
Graham was the top Goderich
scorer with two goals. -
