-The Suncoast Suns Atoms
won three games during the
past week, outscoring their
opponents 16 - 1 in the
-process.
Two of the victories were
exhibition wins over
Lucknow, the top team in
their division of the WOAA,
and a Pee Wee "B" team,
selected from the 6MHAPee
Wee House League. The other
victory was a 6 - 1 effort over
Listowel in WOAA league
play. The Sun's victories over
Lucknow and the Pee Wees
were by scores of 4 - 0, and 6 -
0 respectively.
Last Wednesday in
Lucknow, the Suns had to
work hard for their win over
the tough Lucknow team. The
game was scoreless for two
periods, but the Suns broke it
open with four unanswered
goals in the third. Daryl'
Madge had two goals and an....
assist. Grant Garrow had a
goal and an Assist while Ken
Huff notched the othr Sun's
counter. David Jewell was
credited with an assist. Terry
Bean recorded the shutout in
the Sun's net.
The game with the
PeeWees was arranged at the
last minute when Port Elgin
failed toarrive for the
regularly scheduled game at
Vanastra Saturday because
of freezing rain conditions
near Port Elgin. Pee Wee
house league convenor Bill
Rahbek quickly assembled a
team to give the Suns a game.

Thirteen games have been
-booked for the Lticknow
arena. March 18 the games
will start at 5:00 p.m. running
through 11:00 p.m. On
Saturday March 19 the
competition begins at 9:00
a.m, and runs till 11:00 p.m.
Therewill be three games on
Sunday, at 1:00 p.m., 5:00
pm. arid 9:00p.m.
The only open day at the
VVingham facilities will be
in three to close season
March 24. There at'e'-t ee -
games set for Mareh
for March 19, five on March
20 and full days on March: 21
and 22.
On March 23 there will be
five games, March 25 and 26
will be full days while Sun
day March 27 will see the
championship games.
Owen Sound won the 'AAA'
group title last year by
beating London 6-3. To date
seven teams have entered the

regular schedule action
Monday night in Listowel.
Daryl Madge scored three
goals and John Thompson
had two goals and two assists
for the Suns. Todd Graham
got the other Goderich goal.
Ken Huff, Grant Garrow,
Rob Gibbons, Trevor Erb and
Steve Sinclair all had assists.
Tom Newbigging scored
thle only Listowel goal.
The game was the last on
the schedule for the Suns.
Five games cancelled
because of weather con-
ditions will not be made up.
Coach Richard Madge and
manager Bill Garrow at-
tended a meeting wednesday
night in 'Mount Forest to
arrange the playoffs. The
Suns, who finished second in
league standings, will
probably meet either Port
Elgin or Listowel in the first
round. The first game of the
playoffs will likely be in
Vanastra Saturday at 6 p.m.
