On the suggestion of Reeve
Bill Clifford, Goderich Town
Council will write a letter in
support of an effort by local
MPPs to get financial
assistance from the
government to offset
unusually high costs of snow
removal this winter.
Town Administrator
Harold Walls also suggested
the town might wish to apply
- for additional interim subsidy
1 for the, 'town' because of the
recor'd snowfall' and sub-
sequent removal costs so far
in 1977.
In January, the townpaid
out more than $22,000 for
show removal (exclusive of
sidewalk plowing). In 1976,
only $25,000 was budgeted for
the entire year; although the
budget was exceeded by
about $27,000 last year.
