Prime Minister Albrecht of the State of Lower Axony has stated the article s& i, "The state government will not give the go-ahead until it is satisfied there Is no risk from the dump to the population". That 35 foot cube(?) you mentioned is a small part of a very large problem. They say it's not quantity but quality that counts. Dr. Scott is ob- viously duping anyone who believes that. we are "returning the radioactive -elements to the earth where they came from." Such •a statement is blatant fraud. Please check the figures yourself. Natural uranium in the earth cannot be compared to spent fuel being put back into the earth. Without going into the mathematics, "the spent fuel must be isolated for -a very long time - about a million, years for the radiation to reach that of natural uranium." (W. M. Campbell, the Management of Radioactive By -Products from a Nuclear Power Plant, `AECL 1973.) - Predictions also give us»a total of 100,000 tons of nuclear waste by the year 2000 — enough to fill a football stadium . according to Pollution Probe, Ottawa. • Once again, we've got the cart before the horse! We have no right to create lethal and life -altering radionucleides before we, know what to do with them. Plutonium has been called "The Element of the Lord of Hell". You , would do your readers well to tell them why it has that name. Respectfully, Paul Carroll, Seaforth. • Bandsmen.hear this Dear friends You are probably aware that this year the Town of Goderich is celebrating its 150th. birthday.
