$19.2 million over $267.7
million in 1976, Health
Minister Frank S. Miller has
announced.
Budgets for all Ontario
hospitals ..will total $1.87
billion in calendar year 1977
for an increase of $123.7
million over the 1976 budget
total of $1.74 billion.
"In future, hospitals and`
government will operate on
the same._ fiscal year, April 1
to March 31,'"said Mr. Miller.
"Allowing for the i three-
month transitional period
January 1 to March 31, 1977,
Ontario hospitals are being
budgeted over 15' months
January 1, 1977 to March 31,
1978:"

submitted budgets covering
operating costs for Ministry
approval," continued Mr.
Miller. "The Ministry. in 1977
has established hospital
budgets ,by determining
allowable operating. expense
and deducting : the hospital's
revenue from outside sour-
ces. `

made by the Department of
Veterans Affairs, Workmen's

reached its goal of $461,548
almost seven' months after
the arena doors were closed
by the Recreation Board.
Figures 'released indicate ..
that the pledges. 'from the
Goderich Kinsmen and Lions
Club, both.totalling $17,000,..:
over; three' years 'aliiriost

objective. The total project`
cost includes the.contract';, foe'.
of $421;548, the engineering ..
• fee of $28,500 and demolitions
costs of $11,500.
The anticipated" Com-
munity Centre grant for the
project was $115,387 and the
Wintario grant, matching
com munity dollars" on a""2 1 "'"'
. ratio could reach '$230,774.
The balance or community
portion that was to' be raised
is $115,387., .. -.
The amount raised to
December of last year
through the canvass, pledges ' ,
and group events was $73,350,
leaving a, balance of, almost .
$45,000,
Guaranteed . pledges ` from
the .Lions Club, Signal -Star,
Conklin Lumber and Don
nelly and Murphy amounted
to $18,000 and further..three.
