On Wednesday, January 12,
the ladies held a jitney- and
dinner and door prizes were
won by Judy Finlayson,
Elaine Worsell, Anne Kurans,
Brenda Love, Lorraine
Betties, Joanne Jasper and
Joye Orr. First prize for
curling was won by Karen
MacKinnon with Pat
Wilkinson, Joye Orr and
Betty Ferguson. Second prize
was won by • Doris Paquette
with Donna Doidge, Marg de
Bolt and Joanne McCallum.
Third prize went to Jean
McGee with Mary
Weatherby, Judy Finlayson
and.Louise Bray.

On Sunday, January 16, two
teams, Torn and Joanne
Jasper with Don and Wendy
Tremeer and Jack and Karen
MacKinnon with Jim and
..Linda Bell started play in a
double knockout competition
to determine our club's
representatives in the
Seagram " Mixed Curling
Playdowns. The winner of the
club competition will meet
other clubs in Division 13B.to
determine the division's
representatives. After
Sunday's play each team had
one victory, each. The
deciding game will be played
Wednesday, January 1,9 after
the ladies draw.
BONSPIEL NEWS
.On Saturday January 15,
three Goderich teams
travelled to Kincardine for a
bonspiel. Doris Paquette
came second in the first draw
with Eleanor Erskine, Lynn
Edward and, Kay Duncan.•
Bernice Moore came fourth
with .Phyl Durst, Eleanor
Fisher and Lois Vanstone. In
the second draw Maxine
Martin came fourth with Fay-
Ribey,

Ribey, Dianne-Verhoef and
Kay King.
On Thursday January 13, a
rink composed of Cam Bogie,
Jamieson Ribey and Bill and
Elmer Robertson travelled to
Mitchell where they won first
prize in a Men's Bonspiel.
Cam was •a winner again on
January 15 when with Ron
Klages, Jack MacKinnon and
Dennis Lebrun his rink was
first in the second draw at a
Men's Bonspiel in Exeter and
missed the overall title by 3/4
of a poiint.
On January 15 five teams
from Goderich travelled to
Ripley fora Men's Bonspiel.
In the " first draw Jim
Hawkins' rink with Bill
Robertson,- Ralph 'Foster and
Dennis Conley won first prize.
Verdun Vanstone's rink with
Tom Moore, Len Bowman.
and Stu Ramey placed second
in the same draw. Neil
Stapleton's team with John
Edward, -Fred .Crawford and
Bill Vanstone placed fourth.
In fifth place was Phil.
Foster's rink with , Roger
Moore, Larry Sturdy and
Allen Bogie.
In the second draw Gerry
Walter's rink with Ed
Brissette, Don Tremeer and
Pete Graf placed second.
COMING EVENTS
Men; don't forget the Don
Edward Fuel Bonspiel this
weekend. There are still a few
spots available.
On February 12, the annual
Mixed Valentine Bonspiel
sponsored by Mel Bogie Esso.

after a three week layoff and
enjoyed limited success.

Parkhill built up a 3-0 Lead
after the first period and
coasted to a 6-3 victory over
' the. Merchants.
Parkhill scored 'three goals' -
in the first period and padded
their lead with a goal 12
minutes into the' second
period before Brian Thom-
pson 'of . Goderich beat
Parkhill goaltender Murray
Jameson with five minutes
remaining in the period.
Parkhill again increased
their lead with a goal just 30
second into the final period.

Goderich held a 9-2 lead
after the first period and
outscored Centralia College 2-
I in the middle period.
Centralia then carried the
play in -- the- third period -
scoring five goals , while
Goderich added three to their
total.
MacDonald was selected
the star of the game for
Goderich while Tim Browt
who scored two goals, was
selected for Centralia. .
The Goderich Merchants
put together their second
victory in a row as they
downed Hensall 8-5 in SHHL
Intermediate D action at
Vanastra Tuesday.
The Merchants held a 3-2
Lead after the first period of
play and increased it'to 6-4
after two periods. Hensall
narrowed the lead to one goal
early in the third period
before Goderich countered
with two insurance markers.
Cam MacDonald led the
Goderich offense with three
goals'while teammates Paul
Corriveau and Brian
Thompson chipped in with
two apiece. Ron Whetstone --
scored the other goal . and
added two assists'.
The win improved the
