during the second frame with
Jerry Olechoswki opening the
scoring first for Howick.
Two quick goals, one to
either team, drove the score
5-3 at the midway point in the
period. Lewis from Cum-
mings and Tom Sager ac-
cb.inted for the fifth Goderich
goal at 7:48 and then four
seconds later Olechoswki put,
Howick back wittrin striking
range.

trick later in the period when
he picked up a pass from
Chaseat 13:37. Don Hastie
completed the scoring in the

Sunday a five goal third
period was the key to a 9-5
shellacking of, Ripley ..by
Goderich when they travelled
to Ripley toplay. _
Goderich trailed 2-1 after
the first period when Mike
Gallant and John Elliott
scored for Ripley. Bill Lewis
counted the only Goderich
goal after picking up a pass
from Ed Courtney.
Paul Schaefer evened the
score at the beginning of the
third frame after Lewis and
Steve Davey set him up.
Howick scored two more
before Goderich drew even
again with goals from Scott
Kennedy and Schaefer.
Gallant put Ripley into an
early lead in the third before
Goderich struck for its five
goal onslaught beginning with
Steve Meriam who banged in
a Mike. Andrew pass at 4:19 to
make the score 5-5.
Steve Davey ;set up
Schaefer • allowing him to
complete his hat 'trick and
score the eventual winning
goal. Less than two minutes
later Ben Worsell added the
insurance on a pass from
Davey. Lewis added the
eighth from Ed Courtney and
Pete Crew finished the
scoring with 3:19 left in the
game.
January 8 Goderich
doubled the Listowel "B"
team 14-7. Bill • Lewis led
Goderich ,with five goals and

The GDCI wrestling team:,
was represented at a tour-
nament in Sarnia Saturday by
nine •competitors. .The
tournament provided good
competition, with three
Michigan schools plus Sarnia,
London and Stratford
'wrestlers taking part.
Three of the GDCI
wrestlers had successful
days. Dave Rodges came
through with his best effort as
a GDCI wrestler, finishing
second in the 178 pound class:'
Mike- Jeffery was -fifth atfl30-
pounds ' and Bob Tigert
finished sixth in the 98 pound
class.
