PETRIE Boston honeymoon Knox Presbyterian Church in Goderich was festive. with,Christmas trees, poinsettias and candles for the Decembier 18 wedding of Paula Jane Clancy, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. G. B. Clancy and Philip Elwin Petrie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Petrie, Port Albert. The Rev. G. L. Royal officiated for the double -ring ceremony at which organist William Cameron and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Robinson supplied the wedding music. The -bride was given in marriage by her parents. She wore a white.polyester satin gown in princess style with a white velvet cape featuring •a full hood and train, trimmed with white rosepetal lace. She wore a silver pearl necklace,` a gift of thegroom and -carried pink and white poinsettias, carnations, red roses and trailing ivy. Matron of honor was Rhea Hamilton, Auburn. Bridesrnaids were Anita Robinson, Goderich, and .Connie McMillan, Goderich. They wore pink gowns of silk jersey under burgundy velvet capes of similar style to the bride's ensemble. They carried bouquets ofcascading pink and -white poinsettias, carnations and trailing ivy. They all wore silver rose necklaces, gifts of the bride. Ringbearer was Master Bryee'Beattie, Port Albert. Groomsman was Chip Wilson,,Goder"ich. Ushers were Paul Johnson and Steve Gardiner, both of Goderich. The wedding reception was at the Maitland Country Club where Christmas trees, wreaths and candles for- med the setting. The bride's mother chose a green silk jersey gown styled with a pleated front and self belt. She wore a corsage of yellow roses and carnations. The groom's mother selected an Orange ice gown with at- tached ttached shoulder cape and a corsage of yellow and white carnations. For travelling to Boston, Mass., thebride changed to a rust coloreddpantsuit with matching blouse. • They 'are residing at 226 Britannia Rd. W., Goderich: Special wedding guests were three grandmothersof the couple: Mrs, Viola.Petrie, Port Albert ; Mrs. Hilda Clark,Toronto; and Mrs. Paula Forrest, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Other out-of-town guests,. were present from Toronto, London, Stratford and Mount Forest, Detroit, Michigan; Saskatchewan and Alberta. Flowers for the wedding were arranged by Mrs. Jean McKee, Benmiller. Prior to her marriage, the bride was the guest of honor at a dinner party and shower at the home of hostess Mrs. Bonnie Graham a community shower in Port Albert at Christ's Church: and a shower for friends of the bride given by Miss Connie McMillan and Miss Anita Robin- son. Snider attended the Whately' and Campbell Wedding on Dec. 23 at Cornwall, and spent the Christmas Season with their - daughter and son-in-Ia•w, (Agnes and Desmond Whately) and family of Ottawa. The Reverend Gary Stokes conducted the double -ring ceremony. The bride who was given -in marriage by her .father looked' lonely in a floor length gown of ivory -gabardine with lace inserts. CONCERT The annual Christmas School Concert presented by the students of St. Joseph's school at Kingsbridge was postponed. from Tuesday, December 21 and held the following evening because of the bad weather.. Master of Ceremonies, Principal David Zyluk Congratulated the parents on bringing their children out on such a frightful evening and. held a vote to"see whether the concert wouldgo ahead. The majority votefavored the go- ahead and those parents who wished to take their children horne' before the roads were completely, blocked were advised to do so. ` The concert was not presented in its entirely but the numbers that were presented were thoroughly enjoyed leaving everyone wanting to see the -rest of it It is hoped this will be done at a later date as the teachers and pupils had spent much time i , preparing the skits, gym nastics, etc. •- As Santa Claus had made' his appearance in the af- ternoon, the Reverend Father Ed Dentinger, C.R. presented the gifts to the smaller , children. SOCIAL NEWS Brian Courtney and friend 'Miss Jeannette Michaud of Edson, Alberta arrived on Thursday, December 23 to spend a two week Christmas vacation at the , home of his, parents, Mr; and Mrs. Joe Courtney and family. Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Chilton and son. Tdmmy of Moose Factory spent the Christmas' holidays with her mother Mrs. Clarice Dalton and family. Mrs. Whately, mother of the groom wore a gown of dolphin blue, also with peach and white roses.
