Mr, James Hawkins and
Peter Imanse approached
council. re the drainage of
water erossing Highway 21
from the Huron County
Forest Lots 1314. The clerk
informed council that he had
contacted the Ministry of
Transportation and Com-
munications, Stratford, The
Ministry of Natural
Resources at Wingham (who
manage the Huron County
Forest), and the Colborne
Township Drainage Engineer
and all had stated that a
Municipal Drain •to the Hill
Lake -or throtigh Mr.
Hawkins' property would be
the only means of drainage
they would consider. Both
Mr. Hawkins and Mr. Imanse
agreed to participate. in a
Municipal Drain and they
signed apetition for Drainage,
Works„a copy of which was to
be sent ti the Maitland Valley
•
Conservation Authority, the
Ministry of Natural
Resources, Wingham and the
Ministry of the Environment.
Mr. Mel. Good, township
road superintendent, reported
that -there was a water
problem .in the area of Block
A and Proctor Subdivision.
Council .discussed lowering
the ditches but as the water
would have to go through a
catch basic and culvert pipe
a municipal drain ap-
. peared to be the only solution
with a meeting cif tlfe--area
ratepayers to be planned.
Also discussed were the 13.M.
Ross and Associates Limited
account dealing with the
public works garage paint
• peeling . oft, .water oil- the
• Township road at McGaw, and
Alex. Chisholm to commence
working for the Township.
Mr. Ben Straughan of
McGillivary and Company
discussed with couneil the
financial recording, ac-
• counting, yearTy budget and
taxes. -As he was 'leaving' the
firm at the end of December
1976 there 'would be' no one
experienced in Municipal
accounting at the Goderich
Office. jt was .decided by
Council that the .Reeve and
• the Clerk Would meet with the
manager of McGillivary and
Company to consider tht
matter,

Lot 6 Concession 8 for a loan
of $11,000.00. '

Council was informed of

approval. After setting the
date for the final Council
meeting of 1976 as December
21 at 8 p.m. Council was

the work presently done by
McGillivary and Company of
Goderich in financial
recording, accounting in-
cluding yearly budget and
taxes. This was approved by
Council on a motion of
Councillors Grant -MacPhee
and Capi

transferred to the Colborne
Township office.
Mr. Mel Good, township
rdad superintendent,
repotted that due to not
receiving an order for grader
blades the 1976road accounts
of $127,800.40 • was - $199.80
below the amount budgeted,
He also reported that, the
grader transmission had to be
repaired and when complete
the snowplough trupk would
have to be repaired. In
finalizing his last report to
Council Mr. Good indicated
that he would help the newly -
appointed road superin-
tendent Alex Chisholm and
council if requested. Reeve
Doug McNeil and council
thanked Mr. -Good for a job
well done in his many years of
service to Colborne Town-
ship.
Third and final reading was
given to the By -Law 10 of 76 to
cover _ the -road superin-
tendent Appointment. It was
passed on a motion of
Councilial Russel Kernighan
and Grant MacPhee.

indicating mobile • radio
equipment was soon to be
installed in the department
vehicles and if Cblborne and
Goderich Townships would be
interested in installing such
equipment in the fire tank
truck. • Colborne • Council
approved the equipment on a
motion of councillors

consideration be given in 1977.

mobile radio equipment in-
stalled in the Township road
vehicles and the Clerk was

A request from the War
Memorial Children's
Hospital, London resulted in a
donation of $25.00 'being ap-
proved on a motion of Deputy -

All of this could be ayoided if the school had enough
money to spend on a repairman coming in and checking
over the range for faults.
Another way. ip which this could be prevented is the
fact that the school' should make a place in the sc.hool for
people to smoke. -
