natives or former residents of
Goderich that Were among
those volunteers.
The book, billed as the most
complete documentation of
this subject ever to be
published, contains all the
available biographies, name,
rank, number, hometown,
squadron, decorations,
wartime and -postwar career
of the 2,000 Canadians who
enlisted in the RAF ''prior to
the Battle of Britain.
The five Goderich volun-
teers have been a slight
problem for Mr. Allison who
is asking for any information
from anyone who knew the
men .or knew of them.' The
men are F -L Norman Brown,
No. 115788, born in Goderich.-"
in 1913 and killed in action
December 23, 1944 when
serving with No. 35 Squadron,
F -S Tom Roy Clayton,. No.
626938, born in England and
raised in''- .Goderich and
Kingston, enlisted November

- Mr.. Allison is looking for
next of kin or friends of the
men and needs full names,
pictures if they are available,
and as much .information as
possible on them. He con-
tacted the Goderich branch of
the Royal Canadian Legion
but has heard nothing to date
from the Legion. Legion
executive member Bob
Chapman said he was not
aware of Mr: Allison's
request but said he would do
everything he could to try to
solicit the information
needed.

retiring giving their swan

John L. , McCutcheon was
among those retiring • from
council affairs. He has -
served on Huron County

is retiring after four years;
'Tuckersmith Reeve Elgin
Thompson is stepping down
after 15 years; John Baker of
Hensall, after six . years;
Harry Mulvey, Turnberry
Reeve, after- four years;
Harvey McMichael, depiuty
reeve of Hawick, after six
years; Stanley Township
Reeve, Anson McKinley after
nine years Exeter Reeve
Clarence Boyle after 12

Land Division budget

At its December meeting on
Friday Huron County Council
approved a 1977 budget for
the Land Division Committee
totalling $41,200, This is up
only $200 from the 1976
budget,
The budget will be subject
to final review of the new 1977
couneil, -
To date there have been 309
applications for severances in
1976 which is the second
highest yearly total since the
inception of the Land Division
Committee'
