Midgets blow lead in tie: with ListoweIt$64T,
The Goderich Green and
Parent Midgets were on the
verge of •handing Listowel
their first lossof the season
Saturday night in Vanastra
when Jeff Bender scored with
a minute and a half left to
salvage an 8-8 tie. Gary
Peters was given a game
misconduct and automatic
two minute penalty with 1:57
left to go in the game and 27
seconds into their power play
Bender beat Tony Bedard for
the equalizer.
Goderich overcame a 6-3
deficit in the final 20 minutes
and looked to be in control of the game with anunassisted
an 8-7 win when Peters got the goal.

The Goderich Juveniles
roared back with six late
goals against Mt. Forest
Saturday night in Vanastra
and managed a 7-7 tie with
the visitors. Mount Forest led
the game 6-3 at the end of the
middle period and grabbed
what proved to be the tying
goal° vith four minutes left.
The visitors took off with a
two goal lead after 'Ron
Patterson beat John Page for
two • unassisted scores. At
10:26 Mike Cummings put
Goderichon the board with.
help from Pete Crew 'and
Steve Davey but Mt. Forest
added one more to take'a 3-1
lead to the dressing room.
Jerry Arthurs scored. on a
play set up by Patterson.
The visitors used four
minutes of the second period
to grab a 5-1 lead on goals by
Jack Gibson and Paul Barton
that were scored .30 seconds
-apart. Paul Schaefer replied
for Goderich at 6:25 with help
from Dennis LeBlanc and
Steve Meriam but Mt. Forest
added another .three minutes
later when Jerry Arthurs
scored unassisted. Steve
Chase brought Goderich to
within three goals just before
the period was over getting
help from Steve Davey and
Pete Crew.
The final 20 minutes
belonged to . "Goderich and
Pete Crew _ started the ball
rolling at 3:48 .with an
unassisted goal. In the middle
of the period Bill Lewis closed
the gap to one with a tally
assisted by Paul Schaefer and
Mike Cummings. Four
minutes later Gary McComb
temporarily stalled the home
club with a score but
Goderich roared back with
two in the final minute to tie
the game. At 19:01 Paul
Schaefer grabbed a solo goal
and with 12 seconds .left
grabbed 'a pass from Pete
Crew and tied the game.

goal with an unassisted effort
but the score proved to be the
equalizer., At 12:43 Jeff
Bender fed Don Annett a pass
that Annett.turned intoa goal
and then Bender tied the
game with the power play
effort.
The Midgets droPped a four
point game Wednesday night
in Mt. Forest losing 5-3.
Goderich held a 3-2,lead after
the second period, but, being
five players short due to other
commitments, couldn.'t
handle the Mt. Forest press in
the final20 minutes.
Goderich jumped to a two
•goal lead early in the game on
plays set up by Steve Arbour
and Hugh Hanly. The pair
assisted on goals, by Paul
Dougherty and Dale Duncan.
