It•was announced that Mr.
and Mrs. Gordon Brindley,
besides giving the Institute a
generous donation for lunch
served -recently, will be
presenting an award to
Colborne _Central 'School
Grade 3-5 students in pen-
manship in memory of
Gerald Edward Brindley.
New cupboards have been
installed in the kitchen and
the bill was presented for,
same. Discussion followed
about painting the ceiling and
walls and it was moved by
Mrs. Eric Reaburn and
seconded by Mrs. Morgan
King to paint early in 1977
with volunteer members
from the Institute in charge.
It was moved by Mrs. Tait
Clark and seconded by Mrs.
Ila Bean to charge $5 for the
use orthe kitchen. -
Members unanimously.

Star dinner January21.
The next meeting ,will be
the Christmas meeting,
Thursday, December 9 at2:00
p.m. with an exchange of gifts
to value of $1.50. It is a pot
luck lunch and members are
asked to bring sample of their

Municipal Election this

short informative talk of her
platform and seeking: support
introduced the guest speaker,
Mrs. Connie Osborn who with

illustrative slides on Pro Life,
followed by a question, and
answer period. The ladies
thanked the Institute for the
opportunity of speaking -at
meeting and expressed' the
desire and willingness to
speak to other groups.
Mrs. 0. Falkiner thanked
the speaker and presented
her with a gift.
After singing The Grace,
the members enjoyed a social
half hour together with a
delicious lunch served by the
committee with Mrs. Brock
as convener. During the
social half hour Mrs. R,
Buchanan and Mrs. Earl
Sherwood gave their reports
of the Huron County Rally
held in Dashwood Oct. 4th.
BIRTHDAY PARTY
A happy event recently was
when Mr. Meryl Quaid of
Sarnia paid a visit to his twin
sister, Mrs. Maitland Mon-
tgomery, on their birthday
and entertained his sister and
her husband Mr. M. Mon-
tgomery and Mrs. Ann
Montgomery to dinner at The
Mill. This was special for
these twins, brother and
sister who hadn't been
together for their birthday for
25 years.

BRIDAL SHOWER
A very pretty bridal shower
was held for Betty Durst,
bride to be,. daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Norman Durst; in
Benmiller Church, Friday
evening November 26.
This. was a community
shower and the first part of
the evening was spent in
interesting contests after
which Betty was presented
with a shower of .lovely gifts
while Bernice Fisher read a
fitting address.
Betty thanked the ladies for.
their thoughtfulness and all
enjoyed a dainty lunch served
by the ladies in charge.
