The Electrics had a strong first period in which they led 2-1. David 'Jewell scored on a break -away to make it 1-0 and seconds later, Scott Garrow made the score 2-0 on another break -away with Kevin Talbot assisting. Before.. the periott ended, • Walkerton made it 2-1., In the second, Kevin Talbot scored unassistedto make it 3-1. Then, the Electrics system:completely broke down and they , never recovered as Walkerton scored two fast goals near the end of the period to tie the score. The game stayed that way until the 7:19 mark of the final period when the Electrics fell behind 4-3. With the goalie pulled, Walkerton scored into the emptynet to make it 5-3. The Electrics had quite a few scoring chances in the third with Ron Chapman, Kevin Talbot and Steve Schutz just missing. This weekend, the Electrics play in Vanastra against Hanover at 5 p.rn. then travel' to Hanover, Sunday, for •a 1:30 p.fl'x game. Several new programs for the future Ontario hockey scene were announced. These plansinclude a Hockey Research Symposium which would bring together the top experts from all over the World ` to co-operatively evaluate existing hockey research, andplan the direction future research .should take. Planning is now going on foi this' • special project; under the direction of Dr.. Howard Green of the University of Waterloo. Mr. Brochu said the. swimathon was considered a financial success - financially improved over last spring's event and predicted a further increase . for next spring's swimathon.
