Two big .weekend victories ,
by the Stangs over archrivals
Kincardine . Kinucks and
Walkerton Black Hawks left
no doubt in anybody's mind as
to who's on first, what's, on
second, etc.
Last Friday ' night, the
Kinucks came to town holding
a slim one point lead .over the
Stangs in the Central O.H.A.
Jr. "C" standing but left town
trailing wby one point as the
Stangs handed them a 9-7
beating.
The Stangs also have three
games i'ri hand on Kincardine:
Last Sunday afternoon the
Stangs travelled into
Walkerton and scalped the
B,lack.Hawks by a score of '12
5' on the hat trick per-
formances of Robbie Heard
and Dave Stephenson. ,
Last. Friday night's game
at •home against Kincardine,
saw Clinton Captain Randy
Millar fire the hat trick while•
singles went to Steve Cook,
Ron Sbwerb'y, Robbie Heard,
Ken Robinson, Don Grandson
and Tim McLean. •
Millar'sethird goal of the
evening proved td be the
eventual winner while Tim
McLean fired in an insurance
marker • late in the third
period.
Last Sunday's game -at the
Ploughing Match capital.
proved to be one of . Clintons
better • garnes . of the past
month.
Clinton opened the scoring
on a goal by Dave Watt and -
rriage
singles by Peter Thompson,
John 1'-Ianley, and Robbie
Heard (with two) followed
suit. Walkerton tallied once in
the' first and again . in the
second period while the
Clinton sharpshooters had a
field day in the second period.
Clinton• notched .no less than
seven more goals in this
period led by Dave
Stephenson with three, Steve
Cook with a pair, and another
by Robbie Heard and a single
by Jamie Thompson..
Three .of the goals in the
second period.by the Stangs
were short-handed while
three more were powerplay
efforts.
In the third period with •
Clinton holding a .12-2 lead
and nesting -on a sure victory,
Walkerton came up with
three goals to finish the game
12-5.
