Thursday's meeting of the
Goderich Grgen Thumbers
got under ay with President
Robin Monald and Vice-
' president Michael Madden
presenting a cheque to Chris
Cavanaugh to go towards the
arena roof fund.
Tickets were sold on a dried
flower arrangement and a
cake with the proceeds going
to this cause. Mrs. Cavanaugh
was grateful for receiving the
cheque and went on to explain
that all the Green Thumbers
should feel a. great sense of
accomplishment when they
enter the' „newly finished
arena in the spring.
Valerie Montgomery was
installed as the club's new
secretary • as former
secretary Susan Chisholm
retired fromthis position.
A card of thanks was read

from Mrs. Jean Barnett. She
is vacationing in Mexico for
the winter months.
The business section of the
meeting over Mrs. Agnus
Bedard arrived with material
to make corsages to be given
to some of the Nursing Home
Patients- at Christmas.
Delicate white and red dried
flowers were made into
stunning and attractive
corsages. Bright red ribbons
really topped them off. .
The Green Thumbers • will
be kept busy this Winter
making a. float for the
Goderich Tri -Centennial
Parade. There is to be a
contest for the best, name for
the Green' Thumbers float.

Those who enjoy making
posters should get them done
and in for the next meeting.

be made in the oncoming term
for council, and . ) can only
promise to approach ' them,.
willing to lake the time and
effort to try. and work out the
best decision for the people of

The Dungannon 4-H Calf -
Clubs held their first banquet
on Saturday, October 13th.
After.the smorgasbord dinner
president Donna Hackett
introduced the head table.
The four club 'leaders are
dairy, Bob, McNeil and Glen
McNeil and beef, John Clark
and. Ross Eddy. The club
gave recognition of • spon-
soring organization's . and
donators of sbanquet
provisions including Gar -
diner's Dairy, Eric and Betty
Miller (Carlow ."Store), and
Gordon and Bernice Kemp.

Bob McNeil presented .the
Bob McCallum trophy to Top
Dairy Showman Jim Nivins,
the Murry Gaunt award to
Top Beef Showman. Ian
Hackett .and George Smythe
Trophies were awarded -to
members receiving the
highest :number:' of points
which were d`anr :Sandra
.Nivins and beef Ken Metzger.
The Donna Hackett Trophy
for the most enthusiastic
member of the 4-1.I demon-
stration group -was presented
to Lori Hackett. The Sandy
Kolkman Trophy 'a Citizen
Trophy with silver tray, and
Ten Silver Dollars event to
Donna Hackett.
Mr. Doug McNeil . brought
greetings from Colborne
Township, as did Mr. Len
McGreggor, the extension'
assistant for Huron County.
Mr. McGreggor said that
Huron County had 39 projects
with a 91 percent completion.
This is one of the highest in
Ontario. The evening closed
with the 4-H Pledge. :
