Juveniles split games for week
The Goderich Juvenile All -
_Stars split two games this
week, losing the first 7-3 to
Mildmay on Thursday and
winning against Hanover 5-2
in Vanastra Saturday. --
Goderich dressed only 11
players for their game in
Mildmay as opposed, to
•Mildrnay's 17, and were
soundly defeated.
Paul Spitiig opened scoring
in the first period for Mild-
may with his first of three for
the night, Assisting on the
i play was Kevin Hawes.'
Spitzig .tallied again with
less than a minute left in the'
first from Des Phair and Glen
Jeffrey. Hawes scored the
first of three Mildmay goals
in the second period. Phair

Consistent bowling by team

Ted Johnston spurred his

win by bowling high single of
278 and high triple of 679,
Wayne's Crewwere more
than pleased when ,they
captured seven points, put-
ting them into fourth place.
with 14 points. Team mem-
bers. Wayne .and. Melanie
Swan, Eric- and Betty Miller,
Ruth Oke and Marlene Black
all bowled above average.
Marlene had the high triple of
643 for the evening.
The Rovers took five points
when they played against
Tom Willis Six Pins. Vi Fuller
led the ladies once' again with
high single of 279 arid high
average of 199.
Glen Lamb of the Back-
ward Bionics claimed high
average for the evening with
206.
November 21 put the J. &
G's in first place. Teammate
Jack Gilbert, bowled a high
triple of 684 to lead his team
in a clean sweep of seven
Bantams shutout Blyth
e Goderich Bantam. D's
split their week's games
dropping a 4-3 game to
Drayton Thursday night and
coming home to shutout Blyth..
3-0 Sunday.
The Bantams fell victim to
penalties against Drayton
giving up two powerplay
goals to blow a " 3-1 lead:
Drayton scored with just
three minutes gone in the
game when Sandy
McEachern slipped the •puck
past Robert Cummings. Both
clubs played to a. standoff
until' Larry Boyce s.copped up
a loose puck and grabbed an
unassisted goal to tie. the

game; up . with just over a`
minute left in the
Alan Bakker pushed
Goderich into .the lead with
only 20 seconds expired in the
second ` stanza. Jim Fritzley
fed Bakker a. pass . and he
tucked it past Glen Rhame for
a powerplay goal. Joe
Trebish • doubled Goderich's
lead halfway through the
period with.. an unassisted
goal but the penaltieslate in
the game cost Goderich the
win.

shutout victory over Blyth.
The .Bantams got one *goal
in each period and -played 1.6.,.
'minutes of the game shor-
thanded and still managed a
shutout. Jim Fritzley opened
the scoring' late in the first
period: grabbing a pass from
Alan Bakker and shoving the
puck past Steve DeJong.
Bakker made it 2-0 in the
second period on a goal
assisted by Fritzley. °Willie
Denomm€•, added the final•
tally with: less -than. a minute
left in the game on a goal
assisted by Larry Gaynor and
Robert Jeffrey.

Jack Thom's Tri Hards
were at it again and won five
points from Wayne's Crew.:
Last but not least comes
Chesley Hegdons. Bowlding
Rollers, team mates Barbara
Hegdon, Bill and Phyllis
Bogie and Lyall and Karin
Mahon all had a good ,night
and managed 'to snare five
points from Doug .Fuller's
Rovers. Vi . ' Feller is. -still
holding on to the high average
199 for regulars •and
honourable mention goes to
Marlene Black with 202.

scored again six seconds later
to make the score 6-2, •
Mildmay capped its scoring
for the game at 11:22 when
• Phair marked his first goal of
the game.
Goderich finished scoring,
leaving them behind 7 - •3 at
11:51 when, Pete Crew tallied
.from Worsell and "Dennis
LeBlanc.
It was a totally different
picture in Vanastra on
Saturday. Goderich dressed
14 players, received ?ewer
penalties, and defeated
Hanover5-2.
As was the case on
Thursday, the eventual
losers scored first. s Barry
Elen of Hanover ,scored
unassisted at 1:24.
Goderich scored its first of
four unanswered goals at
GODERICH.SIGNA:
9:50. Paul Schaefer scored
from Bill Lewis, Goderich led
. 2 - 1 at 8:09 of the first when
Mike Cummings scored from
Ben Worsell. The only second
period goal came four
seconds after the period
started when Davey scored
assisted by Worsell. The
fourth unanswered Goderich
goal came at 3:50 of the third
period when Tom Sager
scored unassisted.
HanoVer scored its second
of the night at'5 :24 when 011ie
Van Horne scored. Goderich
ended scoring late in the
garne with their fifth, Lewis
scoring, from Mike Cum-
mings.
The next Juvenile game is
Saturday night at 9 p.m..'in
Vanastra when Goderich
takes on PO Elgin. They
play again Monday night at
8:30 in Hanover.

lead late in the third period.
Clinton rallied with two goals
