Brenda Clark of London checks 'the progress of John Vance
of Goderich as Mr. Vance gives blood at the Red Cross blood
donor clinic held at GDCI last week. The clinic, one of two
held annually in Goderich, drew 297 donors and according to
a Red Cross spokesman was a very successful day. The
clinics here normally draw about 250 •to 275 people and
according to Red Cross figures about 95 new donors~that had
either never given before or hadn't donated blood in a
number of years came out -on Wednesday. (staff-photo)-

The Goderich Jubilee Three
organizing committee this
week 'announced.. a student
• poster and •essay, contestin
connection with Goderich's
upcoming 150, anniversary
celebrations.
A poster contest, open to
elementaryschool students
between grades one and
eight, will -offer prizes of $40
for first,, $20. second and $10
third. -
- The posters will be judged
by the committee on the basis
of imagination, content and
quality. They are to be a
minimum of 12 inches by 24
inches, and a maxim.ut , of 24
inches by 36 inches in size.
Posters shouldconform' to.
the subject, `Goderich, Then
and Now', and be mailed or
delivered to the Goderich
Recreation Office, 9.Waterloo
Street, by January 31, 1977.,
As many of the top •entries
aspossible will be displayed
by local merchants 'in their
shop windows, and published
in the special Jubilee Three
edition of the Signal -Star.
The essay contest is open to
Goderich students in grades
nine to 13 and will be judged
on imagination and content.
The. subject selected will be
"150 years, how much
progress?"

Recreation Office by January
