The Goderich Junior
Vikings earned a shot at a'
Huron -Perth junior football
championship this•• Saturday
against Listowel by edging
the Norwell Redmen 15-12 in a
semi-final game • in
Palmerston, Tuesday.
The Vikings used the
kicking game of Eric Mitchell
'to put together a first quarter
• drive that resulted in a five
yard touchdown toss to Paul
H.elesic to grab an .early lead
they' never' let go. Viking
coach Bill. Garrow said
Mitchell collected nearly 20
yards on every exchange
through his kicking prowess
.and after hooting Norwell into
an early hole he gave the
Viking offence the ball on
their own 45 yard line.
The offence drove into the
Norwell five yard line and
quarterback.' Mike Hovey
slipped a five yard pass
through to Paul Helesic and
Eric Mitchell added the extra
point for an early 7.0 lead.
Norwell added a major of
their own on the second last
play of the half when guar-.
terback Kevin Norman found
Ken Waller . alone in the
Goderich secondary and hit
him with.a pass. Waller sped
50 yards for the major but a
