Mrs: Genevieve . Kinahan
moved from Kingsbridge
recently to a new mobile
homeshe recently purchased
and had set up on the farm of
her son and daughter-in-law,
Mr.. and: ,Mrs. William
Kinahan and family of RR 2,
Lucknow. Mrs: Kinahan had
filled in as a relied teacher for
Mrs. Walter Clare from April
1958 until June 1958 at • St.
Joseph's School, kingsbridge
and was hired on the staff in
September 1963 until
December 1964 when she was
forced to quit due to a car
accident. Mrs. Kinahan had •
purchased property from Mr.
John Kelly . and had,a new
house 'built :and was just
sP -`nicely settled prior to her
accident. Mrs. Kinahan will
be greatly missed in --,this
comrnunity.
Several from this area were
in Wingham on Wednesday,
October 14 to hear Miss'
Joanne Nash, British Pro Life
Journalist speak on behalf of
the Society for the Protection
of Unborn Children, at the F.
E. Madill Secondary School.
The Physical Fitness Club
began its fall sessions of
volleyball on Wednesday,
October 13 at St. Joseph's
. School, Kingsbridge at 8 p.m.
Congratulations to Margie
O'Neill;. 14 -year-old daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. . James
O'Neill,who won two saddle
races at the Teeswater Fall
Fair on Saturday, October 9.
She took top honors ` in the
class for riders .16 years of
age and under and in the open
class.
A large crowd attended the
-reception for Mr. and Mrs.
Michael Mallough, the for
mer Valerie Stothers, at the
Saltford Valley Hall on
Friday evening, October 15.
John O'Connor moved to
Lucknow on Friday, Oct9,bet
1st to the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Raymond Leddy for the
winter months:
Francis Hogan, a patient in
the. Wingham and District.
General Hospital for the past
nine days, was transferred to
Victoria Hospital in London
on Sunday, October 17.
Frank . Riegling arrived
home from his farm. at
B-rownvale, .Alberta, late on
Thursday.,. October 14. Frank
had planned to spend' from
three to six weeks cultivating
the land but when his Western
neighbors saw him in the field
they came over with their
tractors and cultivators and
the work was all finished in
less than two weeks. They
also " took Frank moose
hunting with them and they
' bagged.a moose. Frank
brought home three huge
.potatoes that were g`is'bwn in
gardens in the area. Clemand
Phyllis Steffler sent', "best -
wishes" to .everyonethey
knew in this area via Frank:
The Rieglings will be settling
approximately 15 miles north
and east of Whitelaw, where.
Clem and Phyllis are. •

School, Kingsbridge, enjoyed
a holiday on Monday, October
18th, while teachers attended
a professional development
day in Dublin. .
Gary Courtney, sero of Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Courtney, was
hit by a puck at the Lucknow
Intermediate hockey practice -
held at Vanastra - on Wed-
nesday, October 13. Gary was.
taken to the Clinton Public
Hospital where he received 10
stitches to the forehead.
Luckily, Gary was wearing a
helmet.
A Blood Donors Clinic ,will
be held at the Goderich
District Collegiate •Institute
on Wednesday, November 3,
from 2 until 5 in the afternoon
and from 6 until 8 in the
evening. 'Area residents are
reminded that "blood is badly
needed". •Please give so that,
someone might have life. -
Grade 9 students at the F.
E. Madill Secondary School in
Witigham enjoyed Niner's
Night at the school on Friday,
October 15. They had supper,
played games and danced at
a record' hop. Mary Luanne
Clare, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Clare, fell at the
dance and twisted the car-
tilage in her knee. She is
confined to crutches. •

Wingham, who went on a
Geography Excursion. on

buses left the school for
Tobermor.y .. where they
crossed on• the Chi-Cheemaun
to South . Baymouth and
returned to Tobermory where
they enjoyed a hike 'along 'the
Bruce Trail, returning back
to the F. E. Madill Secondary
School by bus.

Bannister, founder of the
--"Physicians for Life" and
"Anglicans for Life". Master
of Ceremonies was Eugene
Frayne.
SOCCER NEWS
On Tuesday the 12th of
October in . Wingham, St.',
Joseph's, Kingsbridge,
defeated. Sacred Heart School
of that town in :both Senior
and Junior Boys' Soccer.
The Juniors played first
and Brent VanOsch, team
captain, opened the scoring
for 'Kingsbridge, The score
was soon 220. as. Harry Boyle
netted for the away team:'
Kevin, Smith, the goalie for
the local team, was unable'to
stop a penalty shot, although
he played- well in goal and
made some outstanding
saves.
. In the second half, Joe"
Gerdes scoredthe third goal
for Kingsbridge and .' this
proved to be the winning goal. •,
Another penalty was awarded
to','Wingham who' -took full
advantage and made the final
score 3-2 for Kingsbridge.
Goal scorers for Wingham
were Dave Montgomery and
Mark.Foscton.
Mike Frayne, in goal,
recorded a shut -out for the
Seniors in their 3-0 victory
over -the Wingh.am school.
