Wed in Guelph Two baskets of white gladioli, mums and yellow centred daisies graced the chancel of St. Joseph's Church, Guelph, on September 11 for 'the• wedding of Janice Palmer and Jim'McCormick, both of Guelph. The _double -ring ceremony was conducte&FY the ReV. Father Victor McNamara, Giielph. • The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Eileen Palmer, Goderich; and Walter Palmer,'Gkinton. The groorn is the son of Mrs. Genevieve McCormick, Guelph. - Special wedding music was supplied by 'organist Lois Huffrnan,•a friend of the couple, Toronto, and •. by a folk singing group from St. Joseph's Parish. The bride was given in -marriage by her parents. She wore wore a nylon jersey gown; champagne -in color, featuring an ivory •lace inset at tlhe_neckline with tiny pearls sewn . in. The same lace and pearls were used in the deep fitted cuffs at the wrists of long full sleeves. The fitted bodice was a•ccentedioby long bridal train which fell from her shoulders. Her Juliette -style headdressof the same:lace as •in the dress, held -a three -tiered full-length veil. She carried a cascade .bouquet of orange sweetheart roses, stephanotis and baby's breath Matron of honor was- the . bride's sister, Karen Baechler, Toronto. She chose a jade green crepe floor - length sleeveless gown with a blousy bodice, fitted Waist and -full skirt. The simple gown was.,accented by a'bow at the' neckline. She carried' a. bouquet of white.niums:, stephanotis and baby's breath. " • . • Bridesmaids 'were the bride's two sisters, Tanya and S-andrai Palmer, Goderich, and the.grooni's niece, Anne Marie Dawson, Guelph, was junior bridesmaid.., They,. were gowned alike in jersey print empire -styled dresses. in many hues of green -and ivory. The sleeveless gowns• had teardrop cut-aways in back. They carried white mums, stephanotis and baby's'breath. "' Groomsman was Terry Connolly,a friend, Brockville. Ushers were Terry Lazar,,;a friend, Walkerton, and Bill McNaughton, a friend, Guelph.. • _..• The wedding reception was: in the Breslau Hotel, Breslau. 'The bride's mother selected. a pale, blue • polyester 'floor -length gown and a white gardenia cor- sage. The"groom's motherwore an orange ice chiffon sheath -styled formal gown with -a corsage of white noses. For a honeymoon spent cottaging in Northern Ontario, . the bride changed into •a going -away dress of a steel blue "polyester in street -length, with a'neckline tying into a • • bow, a •fitted -waisoe,, a tiny belt and cap sleeves. Her • corsage,as of.gardenias. • Mr. and Mrs. McCormick are living in Guelph. Prior to her marriage,, the, bride was the guest of honor atshowers given by Mrs. Helen Dawson, sister of the groom, and Mrs. Genevieve McCormick, Mother of the groom; and. by Mrs. Marie LeBlanc and Mrs. Ethel Caslick.
