Did you watch the Kit-
chener -Waterloo Oktoberfest
Celebrations Parade on TV
Thanksgiving Day? •
Some'people,.I• know,'saw/it
first hand but- we.Fn,joyed
watching it via the television
and it was certainly a great
one to watch. Now this is what
we need for our Port of
Goderich Jubilee parade next
year - lots.,of Variety -.and a
big item . was lots of • par-
ticipation by
ar-ticipationby young people:
The young people certainly
"had some great ideas for their
floats - and this is what we
' need for next year .and this
Christmas. I hope the parents
will speak to their teeners on
the subject - sow the seeds for
the. ideas to get started - get
them thinking.
Thea 'Christmas parade
Would be a .good . time to try
some of their efforts and then
have bigger and better ones
for 197.7 parade. It isn't too
early to start planning -- as it
is nice to be able to do some of
the "dirty" work outdoors --
and there may not' be too
many nice may
left. The
Santa Parade will be early
December again so just a
month and a half . left to ''get
son;,ething ready.
The Colborne Christmas

exhibitors with about 25 of
them from Colborne area.
'John and 'Barbara Kerr will
be there With their, Pioneer

They show the.spinning - and

Orme and Doreen • Kilburn
have a lovely .stone house at
St. Paul's near Stratford
where they 'sell their many
crafts: They will have
sketches from the farm
scenes -- buildings, animals
and other •subjects. also
. beautiful stitchery.
Sheila Gunby of RR 1,
Dungannon is?a'potter•of note.
She is cleverly using the local
clays with her work -4n
overlays and decorations.
Very interesting:
Michael Ward of Blyth has
done, wonderful things in
pottery. You 'really should
visit his shop• to appreciate.
the value ofhis
achievements. Just GREAT! -
Addie McPhee and Rob,
• Tetue work togettr -at their
craft at "Beechwood Pottery
at RR 5 Seaforth. They, too,
are doing great work, you will
be sure to want some" if it.
These three rather four
people - are doing very fine.
work. In the near future they
will - be able to command
great prices for it - as they
haveno place to •go but UP.
Adtir
People are smart to collect
the work ,of fine artists while
they are still •in the early
stages. You will be' glad you
did.
Paul Carman and Deb
Geddes are two fine leather
artists, They will be there '
again • this: year as will be
many other_ folks you will be
glad to.see .again.
. This fair has come a long,,
"long.wy and Evelyn Hardy
worr s about it each year
becau a of limited space •-
altho' Saltford Hall is a heck
of a lot bigger than their nice ..
old Carlow Hall butthere are
more and more craftspeople '•
wanting space each- year -.
and too, bus 1oa'as of people"
come from far away -making -
it a tour stop.. So they are
becoming.ctuite famous.
I'just hope Evelyn and the
few ladies that started- this
fair realize they have become
very su,cces•sful. in . their
project/ and shouldn't 'worry
about it as it can carry itself
now!
