The couple have two daughters and five grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Glazier were honoured at a reception given for them by their family at Saltford Valley Hall on October 1. (News Record photo) Couple wed '50 years The, former Verna Coclough and Wilfred Harold Glazier were honored on the occasion of ther fiftieth wedding • anniversary recently. The couple : 'met , at Miss Colclough's when Mr: Glazier haPPened by one day to ask her to a. dance. That was their first•date and they have been. together since 1922. The couple was married in the, Victoria United Church Parsonage October 6, 1926 at 4 p.m. A dinner at the bride's. home followed the ceremony. They. first settled on the 14th concession of Goderich Township. After two and one half years, they moved to the 11th concession where they lived for -about 35 years_ The couple retired•from farming in 1969. and moved to Clinton. They have ••two daughters: Ruth (Mrs. Clayton) Hodgins of Clinton and Iva (Mrs. Rick) Newman of Mississauga, • and have five grandchildren, Nick Hodgins, Amherstburg;. Kim Hodgins, Clinton: Sherry (Mrs. Peter) Postma, Clinton and Shawn and.. Tim -Newman of Mississauga, Mr. Glazier is worshipful master of 'the Loyal Orange -Lodge in Clinton and both are members of Ontario: Street United Church, Clinton. • Lillian Cartwright of Mitchell, who was • Mrs. Glazier's maid of honor, 'was.. an honored guest at their party.
