Vikings drop game to Exeter

The GDCI senior Vikings
dropped a ,close 9 -'7 decision
to the South Huron Panthers
of Exeter in Huron -Perth
Conference action last
Thursday in Exeter.
The loss leaves the Vikings
with •a record of one win and
one loss in • their first two
league' starts.. They . will be
attempting to improve on this
today (Thursday) -when they
play the Listoyel' Lords . in
Listowel. Next home action
for the Vikings will be next
Thursday, October. 14, when
the league's"

Norwell Redmen of
Palmerston play here.
In Exeter, the Panthers did
all their' scoring in the first
half on a 20 yard field goal by
Paul Brooks and -a ' 14 yard
touchdown run by Ken Pin-
der,

for roof
The Goderich Arena •Roof
golf tournament was'termed
a sudeess'by organizers who
turned over $1,700 to the
arena roof,. fund raising
committee Monday morning..
About 80 golfers took to the
. tee on Saturday at Sunset
Golf taking advantage of the
warm,fall fall weather to make,
an indirect donation ,to the
arena roof. Tickets for the
'tourney were . sold_at • $20 a
piece and $15 .Of that Was a
donation to.the roof fund. the
' remainder went towards a
catered meal for the golfers
after their games. '

Street in Goderich won a
color television ilia draw held
during the day. The TV was
donated by Bill and Ed Stiles
and the. Signal Star. Other.
prizes for the golfers were
donated • • by various
businesses in town and the
green fees for the tourn-
bament were waived by
Sunset.Golf and Sports Centre
owner Paul Buechler..
