He • did suggest that brick in the structure might be "recycled". Mrs: Wallace told council it was the design of the building which was historical, being a counterpart 'of the Egener building on Montreal Street., She expressed some concern,. when the matter was tabled, that- -.demolitio-n of the building could be carried out before council could meet again:. The next regular meeting was not Scheduled' until October/1. JUBILEE DOLLARS Judge Carter asked council to consider a resolution to rei dation of a, sesqui-centennial dollar - a large coin which would have a value of $1 in Goderich fromJune 15 through September 15 of 197j. • The judge suggested that 10,000 of these "dollars" be purchased at a cost of about - $2,000. They are sold' for $1 and would be redeemed at $1 in Gaderi:0 during the three month -period named by :the co rnittee. "The souvenir va ue, publicity value is "not to, be discredited," said Ridge Carter who also noted the project should make money to offset celebration ex- penses. • Council took no time at all in agreeing to tte judge's proposal, The decision • to • draw up the resolution was unanimous. ' • "Db. you think 10,000 will be enough?" asked Deputy - reeve Bill Clifford -who noted • that the town of Listowel with a population of 3,000 had no trouble distributing 10,Q00 at their -recent celebrations. "Once the original order for 10,000 is placed, we will have no trouble getting additional coins if and `when they are needed,". Judge Carter told him.
