Knox Presbyterian Church, Goderich was the scene of
a pretty wedding on July 31,;1976 when Daniel Roy De
Mors and Sandra Mae Prouse exchanged wedding vows
before the Rev. G.L. Royal in a double -ring ceremony.
Candlebra with white gladioli and'yehow daisies made a
. lovely setting.
The: groom is the son'of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad De Mers,
Clinton:, and the bride is the daughter of Kenneth Prouse.
of Goderich and Mrs. B:etty Prouse of :Goderich. ;The
organist, William'. Cameron; played traditional wedding
music and duets were sung by Mr. 'and Mrs. Warren
Robinson of Goderich. • •
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor
length 'two=piece^Victorian styled gown of white ,em=
broidered••swiss polyester; cotton. The bodice had' a high
neckline and flared, frill around • a -t the waist and cape
sleeves. The full skirt fell into a train and was topped by
her long veil of white silk illusion.. This was held in place
by an arrangement of white baby's breath and yellow
stephanotis. Shewore a white bracelet and large errings,
- andcarried a bouquet of yellow roses; white carnations
and entwining green vines.
-The matron of honor, Mrs. Linda MacKinnon of
Auburn, sister of the bride wore a• floor -length wrap-'
around skirt of brown and beige polyester• and cotton
with dark brawn tube top and matching. head -band, She
carried.a bouquet of yellow daisies, white baby's breath .
and .yello'w streamers and -wore a gold chokerand
•
matching bracelets, the gift of:the bride.
The bridesmaids were Mrs. Gayle Jessop, • Luck.now,•
Miss Bev: Denomme,Goderich; Miss Sharon Nowack,
Kitchener; .and Mrs. Anne -Marie Smith, Goderich. All '
bridesmaids were gowned identically to the matron of
honour and carried similar bouquets.
Groomsman •was Brian Schmidt of Goderich and
ushers were Norm Robertson, Auburn; Don MacKinnon,
Auburn; ''Greg Smith d 'fjaul -1Donne1Te t --both : �f
Goderich. •
Following the, ceremony a reception •took place in the
Royal Canadian •Legion where the bride's mother
received the wedding guests:: wearing a floor -length gown
„of blue•flowered chiffon over blue satin with matching
jacket, a miniature pink carnation`corsage arid white
accessories: She was assisted by the groom's mother who
worera floor -length gown of coral interlock jersey, white'
accessories and a corsage of .miniature coral shaded
Carnations. . ..
The -bride's table was centred with a three -tiered
"'wedding cake flanked with yellow tapers and bouquets of
petunias. .
For travelling. to Northern Ontario., the bride donned a •
teal blue gabardine dress with.. flowingelbow-length
sleeves arid matching,, sash: She wore blue shoes arid
matching blue accessories. The -couple are residing at
Prior -to her marriage she was honored with bridal
showers at the home of Miss Marjorie 3:Winston• of
Goderich, friends of the bride; Mrs. Betty Prouse for
relatives of the bride; Mr's. Bill Robertson, Auburn for
neighbours and friends of• the bride and Mrs. JLinda
MacKinnon for friends. Mr. and Mrs. Don MacKinnon,
Auburn; hosted the rehearsal party.

standards ,of pink gladioli and white daisies, was the
scene of the . wedding August 14 for Marianne O'Keefe ,
and John Vincent Gallant. The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and 'Mrs..Josep P O'Keefe,RR. 3 Goderich and the
groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.'Jean Gallant of •RR 1,
Alliston. - . • •
: The nuptial mass was'ce,lebrated by the most Rev: T.J.
McCarthy., D.D. with the Rey: Father E. Dentinger, C.R.
officiating for the double -ring c.eremony. Soloists, were
Eugene and Marianne Frayne .with Miss Frayne also
presiding at the organ. ' ' ` a . • •
The bride was given -in marriage by -her, father. She
wore a formal -length., gown' of polyester satin -with bell
-sleeves and• . a square neckline with lace insert. The ..
princess line gown featured a flowing. skirt with attached
rou8td cathedral train. An organdy floral,headpiece.held ..
her chapel -length illusion veil trimmed with appliques of
matching Mace. She carried a colonial bouquet of yellow
sweetheart roses, pink and mauve inin,iature•carriations,
white daisies, pink straw flowers and baby's breath with
white loopsand streamers:

Goderich, sistersof the bride and Brenda Gallant:of RR,1 '.
Alliston, sister of the groom. They were'dressed alike in
floor -length.. polyester satin gowns with floral print on a
pink and .lilac backgrdufd featuring bell sleeves-• and -='--

The bridesmaids carried nosegays ofwhite 'daisies -and '
baby's breath'rith white loops and streamers.

Ushers were Torn O'Keefe •RR 3 Goderich, brother of the
bride, Bryan Gallant, RR 1 Alliston, brother of the groom . .
and Joe Lynch of RR 1 Loretto, Ont., friend of thegroom.
: The ' wedding `.dinner and: reception followed at .the
Maitland Country Club, Goderich where brandy snifters
of summer flowers in pink, mauve and white and lighted•
pink tapers decorated each table. Michael Sproule' of
London, Ont..; friend of:the bride and groom, was master
of ceremonies. • •
:Guests were received•by the bride's mother who wore a
formal -length -gown of orchid with- long sleeves and a' •
corsage of pink miniature carnations. Thelgroorn's
mother assisted, wearing a formal -length gown of green
with long sleeves and Yellow miniature :carnation cor7
sage.. .•
Guests of honor at the wedding were the groom's
.•maternal.gr andmother, Mrs. David Burristead of RR 1
Meaford and the 'lbride's great aunt', Miss',Adeline Keefe
of London, Ontario.
For travelling the bride changed to a green and white
striped street length dress and a corsage of yellow
daisies.
Theycouple are residing in London.
Prior to:. her marriage the bride was honoredat a
shower given in London by Mrs. -Tom Heath and Miss '
Brenda Callowhill, Neighbours, and friends held a
corrimunityshower in Kingsbridge.

The bide given in marriage by her father was at-
tended by her sister, Eleanor Devereaux, Seaforth as•
relaid of honour. The bridesmaids were Joan Devereaux,
Seaforth, sister of'the:bride; Joanne and. Phyllis Hickey,
Auburn, sisters of the groom; and, Cindy Oughtred, Mt.
Clements, Michigan, friend of the bride. Flower, girl was
Diane Hallahan, Blyth; niece o,the groom'..
The groom vas attended by hrs brother, Bob' Hickey,
Barrie,''as 'best man. The ushers were John and George
Hickey, Auburn., brothers of the groom and Bill and Mike
Devereaux, Seaforth, brothers of the bride. Ring bearer
Was Chris Egan, London, cousin of the bride:
The organist was, Marg Sills; Seaforth 'and the.soloist
was Jim Robertson, Hanover.
After a wedding trip to Norther Ontario the,coupie are
residing at RR 5„Goderich. •
