dedicated volunteer .citizens:

time and energy for five days
to ensure that every citizen is
given an opportunity to help
in the fight against the'

painful disease. •

The bride is the daughter' .of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
Matthews and the groom is the son .of Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Hickey, all of RR 3, Auburn. •
Wedding music was supplied.by Miss Marie Boyle who
was accompanied by her father, Cyril Boyle who sang "I
Believe," "Be Thou My Own" and "The Wedding Song."
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor -
length empire waisted snow white sheer polyester gown
with rounded neckline and Icing trumpet sleeves. From
the back of the waistline came a long floating skirt with a
gathered frill all around the bottom falling into.a chapel
train. Appliques pf Belgium lace were down thefront of
;, 'the. bodice and the sleeves. Tiny daisies were all around
the train and on the' top of the frill onthe dress. Her Juliet.
cap caught a• four -tiered. scalloped silk •shoulder -length
veil with tiny pearls on each scallop.'.She;.carried a::..•
bouquet of yellow sweetheart roses, white carnations and
lily' of the valley. The bride wore a pearl necklace and •
,Thatching earrings; a gift of the'groorn.
• • Maid of honor was Miss Linda Matthews, .Auburn,
Sister of the bride.'She wore a floor-leerigth gown of mint
green fortrel with, a smocked, bodice afid a fitly frill
around the neckline and a.double flounce s.leeve.'Shp'
wore a'floppy white picturehat trimmed with mint. green
ribbon.' and carried a white basket filled" with purple
miniature carnations, yellow daisies and baby's breath,
The bridesmaidswere Mrs. Connie Black; Lucknow,• •
sinter of the groom; JoAnn and Phyllis Hickey, Auburn, •
sisters' of the groom; Valerie' Matthews and junior •
bridesmaid Lori Matthews, Auburn, sisters; of the bride.
'They were gowned identically to'thematronof honor.
The flowergirl was Miss Tracy Black, Goderich, cousin
of the 'bride, She ,wore a white polyester crepe floor-
length•�gown with. puff sleeves. Her dress was trimmed
with -white daisies similar to the bride's: She wore a
tierra• in her hair and carried a white basket filled with
flowers. similar to the brides" bouquet: The bride's at-.
_-. tendan is wore -pearl necklaces, gifts of the bride:
Groomsman was 'Jim Hickey, Auburn, brother of the.
groom. Ushers were: PauYBlack, "Lucknow, uncle of the
bride and brother-in-law of the groom; Jim Robertson, -
Wingliam,` friend of the groom; (ieorge aqa Steven .
Hickey, Auburn," brothers of the groom; .and Roger
Matthews,'Subu'rn, brother of the bride. The groom and
his" attendants were dressed alike in champagne colored .
tuxedoes. The groom wore a.yellowrose boutonniere and
his attendants wore carnations tinted mint green:
Ring bearer was Master'Steven " Hallahan, Blyth,
nephew of' the groom He also worea. tuxedo identical to-
.the'groom and his.attendants:
. The•,wedding reception was held at Saltford Valley Hall
where brandy sniffers of yellow daisies in green' water
decorated .the guests' tables,: The bride's table was
centered with a four tiered wedding cake with assorted
Yellow -roses„ running diagonally on the .cake and was
topped with a bride :and groom. Thebridesmaids'.
baskets of flowers were also set on the bride's table:
The bride's' mother received her guests in 'a floor -
„length coral jacket gown with rounded neckline and a
frill on the edge pf eac_h sleeve and on the bottom :of the
dresg.-Her corsage was-a•white gardenia: The groom's •
mother chose • a floor -length beige colored gown; with
aqua flowers. It was styled with a high waistline, V=
neckline and long sleeves. Her corsage also consisted of.a
white gardenia. -
For travelling, the bride cllaanged to a coral:.pantsuit
and a white carnation corsage:.,.
Guests were present: from .Oshawa, London, Barrie,
Exeter,_ ._W:ingham, Lucknow, Toronto, Chepstow, St:
• Marys, ,Hanover/Seaforth, Goderich and s.!rrounding
territory. ' ' ••
Prior to her marriage; the •-bride Was honored at
showers held by aunts for relatives at the home of Mrs.
Cliff Hackett,.Goderich; by 4-14girls at the home of the--_
bride; by'Nursing classmates at the .home of Mrs. E. V: •-
Eckersley given by, Linda Mair,, Wingham.; and a
• communityshower was held at Nile United Church.
• Following'' their- wedding trip to Northern Ontario, the
couple are residing et RR 5,-Goderich.
