•.Inya, Fans! "The Fox" is back with
a ngthecunderwhelming column! -Where
else can you become so bored.that your
sinkful of dishes is a welcome diversion?
Luckily; I'm not easily bored . , so
anyone who is extra, bored by today's
column may feel free .to,do up my sinkful
Of dirty dishes!!
Last Sunday's gamewas'anything but
boring , - • we played our "arch rivals,"
Clinton S.C. and tied 2-2..W e sort of had a
raggle-taggle team-. , .'som.e "wounded" '
and injured aril some delayed with car
trouble; so we had eleven mento play
the full 90 minutes wt>:.h,ngres'pite..'and tto
=alternates: Those poor turkeys were so
tired afterwards, they couldn`t even take
off their socder boots to have a shower!
(Sure I was peeking . I'.m a'rep:orter
ain't I??!!) • , .
During the top half of the gam•e. ,there„
was . „the usual check and challenge
routine. .. - , •-
' Everything looked good for Goderich.
The fellas were covering their man and
territory - with. easy flexibility.- Any
challenges that Clinton , threw out,

the entire half sailed by with plenty of
action and inventive plays, .:but no
scoring. As if in answer to •an unspoken
prayer,
Lee Arbour:connected with a beautiful ,
pass from lain Lambert and'nurri15'er one
-goal was United's.. This raised our spirits
and wa•,fe1t confident of.more.sc.oring to..
follow. This period 'finished shortly of-.
terwards 'arid Goderich felt up to the next.

But,•suhtly the vibrations altered and
thetask,ahcad•was•not quite as sirriple as
anticipated, . Instead; the . , fgllowing .

'Clinton bore • ,down with •,y intense

But of course, Clinton' moved into
tighter units and began initiating ala+yy.s
that could only lead to their eventual'
scoring . and score they did. Within`
moinents, they had tied us and we were
hard -put 'to mauintt,,.ir ,any -semblance of

fensively. We could no way gain, another
point and thus the garne ended two all,: '

due to our diminished resources: and
through no •skillfultactics on their part.
United tried -valiantly to produce what
they cotr'ldtfor•this game, but we couldn't .
quite grasp it. Stitl,- it. wasn't a loss and it
most certainly was an interesting game
