members and three visitors.

were read and adopted.
Correspondence included a,
request. from Children of the
Church . of •Knox (C.O.C.) for
help in supplying funds fat
these children wha are-
. remembering the shut -lits
nears- the .Shirt -in 'Sunday
which -is early in June, .The
children will be calling on•the
Shut-igs Saturday, May 29.
• _Members were invited to the
special, meeting of the C O,C.
on Tuesday, June,1. at 4•:,§
in.Knox Church. •
It was unanimously agreed
to send $15.00. for. this work.
There was•a request for aid in
the special' project to up -date
Camp Kintail. it was decided

meeting,

start at the Goderich Lawn
Bowling greens. •
Lawn bowling • is, .most
'likely, well. over a hundred
years old in this •area, but
there are photos and records
as far back as 1906 when the
Chib greens were at"West and
Waterloo Streets. They have
been an Picton St, for great
many years now and always a
busy club.. • •
Over the past three ,years

The bride chose a floor -length gown of embossed suede •
satin and peau de soie 'with hand-errrbroidered roses and
:a wedding ring.epllar. Her cathedral, three -tiered train
was held in place -with matching, dress material forming
tiny bows. She c-arrie.d a . crescent cascade of yellow
sw.eetheart roses, stephanotis of all colours with''white
daisies and baby's breath:
The' maid Of. honour, Miss Debbie Patterson of Kit-
chener; wore a floo-length gown_of lavender,pompideau
satin with an attached cape forming the sleeves and ;.
scooped neckline. She carried :a cloud bouquet of white
daisies and coloured baby's breath; The bridesmaids, Miss Kathie Patterson, Kitchener; • •
-Miss Barbara Kilgour•; Bayfield and Mrs. • Helen.
Castrenis, Stratford."wore gowns styled the same as that
of the maid' of honour's, in mintgreen, maize and Melon
Shades and each carried identi.cal.bouquets.-
The groansman was Doug Smith of RR 5, Clinton and
the ushers were William Smith; RR .3, Clinton!: Allan.
Wilbee, Kitchener and Greg Castrenis, Stratford. •
The brides mother, greeted, the guests at the White
Carnation,. Hol-mesville.-She.wore a long gown of teal
blue•with a Matching sleeveless coat and a: corsage of
mauve variegated carnations. The groom's .mother
assisted, wearing a "long gown of apple green color., with ' •
a corsage of pink miniature carnations:
• The bride wore a blue pant suit with white accessories
and a -pink°carnation corsage for her trip to northern
Ontario. - • "
Grandparents: attending the wedding were, Mr.:. and •
Mrs. -Aubry Foster, Markdale and Mrs. Mae Morrell,
Clinton. •
• ' Prior to her wedding, the.br.ide.was honored••at Showers
given • by Mrs. Douglas Smith, Clinton; • Mrs. Ernie
Russell,- Markdale and Misses. Debbie and Kathie. Pat-
tersbn, Clinton.
Guests attended the wedding from Markdale, Toronto,
QStratford, ,Owen. Sound; Flesherton, Meaford, Goderich
and surrounding areas.
The couple -are' residing at •• 136- Elizabeth Street,
Goderich.

lawn bowling clubs folded up -
since they hadn't enough neov
blood to • keep• them
operational.
Luckily, Goderich has
many hard working people in -
the Club and • Fred Richar-
dson
ichar-dson and about -thirty great
helpers, are to be
congratilated on the splendid'
results Oit.'heir labours. It was.
hard to believe there was `so
much that needed to be done.
Of course, there•'is still work

The wind: was cold, the sun

the mood. It was a wonderful.

filled with local people. •
Last year there were about.
thirty sine women and twenty-
eight men regulars.: Now
there are about - fifty new
members coming up from the
drive last year and still more
coming each day.
l,veryone 'is quite, excited
about it - especially. the .two_

White. 'who„,have' Worked so
faithfully on the project.

beginners and if you've ever

bowling is just as exeitingand
competitive. •

that big tree at South and
Elgin Ave? When I had•seen it
earlier it was a soft brown - '
after I had mentioned, it to
you I noticed it was` a great
red - now it is readyto begin
its darkening colors. What a -
lovely tree, you can look -the
full length of Elgin Ave and it
is the only one that stands out
from all the plain green trees'
but we arethankful for•those -
trees too.
