Grant and Ronald Smith of
Toronto
Mr. Grant has been active.
in the field Of business and
finance for many years,
starting with his father.. who
had operated 'a general store
for -more than 40 years:
Mr. Smith said that`
because of the large volume
of business done through -°the
other storm—the company is
able to buy merchandise' in
large quantities and pass
;,di"s`counts ontci its.customers.
"We will. provide products'"
at prices as low or lower than
.people now pay in larger
centres such as Stratford and
London and in this way, we
will encourage localand area
residents to shop in Goderich,
not only for the products we
well but also for the many

chants. In this. way, I believe
-our store will be an asset -to
'the town and its. economy,"'
Mr. Smith said.
Mr, Grant- and Mr.. Smith`
chose : Gode.r'ich as.: ' the
location for their twelfth' store
because of 'its reputation as a
trading centre . and its
,progressiveness .,and; growth
potential. •
Mr' Smith said his " com-
pany was impressed with the
town's picturesque setting
beside Lake -Huron and added
`the residents were fortunate
',to live in such an area away
:from tfie hustle and bustle of
the large metropolitan areas.
Hesaid that- in dealings in
thencomniunity, he had found
the local: people to be friendly
and knowledgeable.
The store will be known as
G & S Discount Drugmart and
will be open seven days a
week. In addition to a full
discount drug store operation
the store will also carry a line
of toys and. convenience
