for life for themselves
A Pro Life program .was,
presented, to the Salvation
Army in Goderich on May 5 to
give insight into the aims of .
the. Pro Life_ movement, in
Canada and locally, and why"
it should - be ' a concern of
society. '
The Goderich and District

organization: It- is non-
sectarian and non-profit and
is . made up of ministers,
priests, professionals and lay

bership of 250. Across Canada

and the co-ordinating body is
Alliance ,. for Life . with
headquarters in Toronto.
Scientific documented
evidence says that human life
begins at the moment of
conception;- Abortion' kills a
huinan.being. •
The ..Pro Life 'group is
concerned with . abortion;'•
euthanasia,.child 'abuse,
infanticides and human _ex-
perimentation: They . are-
concerned with mothers who
need help and guidance and
are offered the death of their
child by abortion as the
solution.
"Two years ago a separate.
organization :called Bir
thrigiit was formed locallyby
the .Pro Life' group. It offers
-free, .confidential help to
unwed mo_.thers •or married
women.
They work . with existing
'social 'agencies iri. the' corn
munity and with doctors and

respecting the lives of both
the mother and child:
"The right to life is the
basis' of our. civilization," said
Mrs. Connie .Osborn who
gave the prettentation.
"The unborn child can feel
pain, can cry, can move;. the
only . thing that he or she
cannot do is ask for its right to
live, no greater gift can a '
mother gi'e 'her ' child than
the gift of life. It is the
responsibility :of society to
respect life," she continued.
Mrs. Osborzi :showed slides
which wds followed by a
