There are -about 21.`2 million bicycles in Ontario to-
dly:Last year 56 bicyclists were killed oh Ontario
streets and highways, and 3;720..were injured.
Even one is too many.
We urge you to make yourself' and your farrlily
familiar with the simple rules and guidelines of bicy-
cle safety. Obey WI stop signs and traffic lights. Keep
in mind theta bicycle is, by definition, a vehicle under
the -Highway Traffic Act. After all, you don't just "ride"
a bicycle — you -drive it. And Ontario wants every
bicyclist to drive safely. • • .
That's why. the Ontario Ministry of Transportation
and Communications„has prepared 3 easy4o- •
understand folders that every bicyclist should read.
They're caliedr'The Bicyolist•s Handbook,”
"Ontario Laws and Your -Bicycle, .and "How To Bean
Expert Cyclist."
