Jean described each of the different house plants along with how to care 'for them individually from --soil mix- tures required to amounts• of water and sunshine needed. Jean said the best advice she could; give anyone starting out is first buy a good book . about plants : one that,would -tell you not only the various kinds of plants but the in- dividual needs '.of each. Be sure to read it carefully before you start any planting. This also _applies to •all out- door gardenirig. ° A door prize of a hanging pot ;of beautiful plants- was donated by Art's Land-, scapingto WDO and after her talk Jean., drew the winning ticket. The lucky winner was Mrs. Audrey Kaufman ' of . Goderich, ---m.. • The meetirlg was concluded with. 'an auction of lovely. plants,donate'd by theladies of WTO. There were so Many ' _ varieties up . for auction .it would take a page to list them all and we would like to thank the ladies for .their en- thusiastic response .to .the sale. GODERICH CALL 524-2136 -4SYNOPS1S- =The Corporation Of The Town Of Goderich e BYLAW NO. 30 OF 1915 Being a By—law :to regulate the setting of fires in the open WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of Air Pollution Control Act 1967 section (b) "Air Pollution means the .: presence in the outdoor atmosphere of any'air contaminant or contaminants in quantities that may cause discomfort to• or' endanger the health or safety of persons, or that may cause inju'ry or damage :to property, or to plant or animal life, or that may interfere with visibility or the normal conduct of transport or business' , WHEREAS the Council of The Corporation of The Town of Goderich deems it advisable to control open fires NOW THEREFORE THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF . THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF GODERICH ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. -THAT no person shall light, ignite or start a fire of any kind whatsoever in the open air within the limits of the Town of Goderich for the purpose of burning leaves, rubbish or any other material without first obtaining written' permission from. the Chief of the Goderich Fire Department. 2. THAT for the purposes of this By-law "fire' includes: a bonfire, a campfire; or any other fire in a -yard, -field, or other open plate,' but does not include; '(a) a barbecue fire which is being used for the cooking'of food when attended by a- competent individual; and (b) an appliance used iin• construction or maintenance 'which requires.,an open flame. 3. NO PERSON shall make or light any fire or light, set off, or throw any firecracker, .squib, serpent, or. other noisy, offensive or dangerous substance or fireworks in any street. 4 ANY PERSON convicted ofa breath: of thif By-law shall forfeit and pay, at the'discretio'n of theeconvicting Provincial Judge, Criminal Division, a penalty not exceeding the sum of $500.00 exclusive of cost. • READ .A.
