1 read, rwhere someone had received greeting cards in the mail •
which -were not ordered. My problem is quite similar in many -
respects, because, in my mail recently, I received a.credit card
from a department store Which was certainly --never authorized
by nie, and because of this 1 simply threw it away and put it out
of my,mind, but now the store is sending me, bills which•claitn
that 1 have already charged some purchases on this card.
1 am mit-Heirin case someone has found this card and used it..
Do I have to pay the bill?
.:.It Was .my_intenti.on to.visit'their creditoffice inperson
give them a piece of my mind, but perhaps you can save m:e the'
trouble and expense of an out of town trip.
•
By. section 46 of the Consumer Protection, Act, a person .must
request or accept a credit bard:in.writing or use it•him.self before.
any action can be brought -against him for money -owing. on the
credit card. A person' receiving a credit card ,which he hasn't
asked for has no obligation regarding its use or disposal. '-
We suggest that ynsend the store a letter, stating all the facts•
and quoting secfri 46 of the Consumer Protection,.Act. •
Hopefully this should save you the unwanted trip. •

live in a condominium apartment, but since 1 don't'drive or
own a car I.do not use the parking space allotted to me. I also.
•never use the swimming pool or squash court, and what 1 need to
know, is, if it is permissible for me t ,sell my rights To -these
three "extras."
The reason that this has come up, is because' 1 have a friend.
who lives nearby and he has made mean offer to purchase my
rights to use all three. .
1 any quite willing to accept his offer, provided .of course, this
is allowed, so that is the reason for this letter, to see if it's alright
for rhe to make money this way..
Would you be kind enough to -advise at your earliest, please.
After some enquiries, we must inform you that you'may NOT'
accept your friend's offer. S.7(5)' of the,CondominiumAct, states
very definitely: that, ownership of a unit, CANNOT be separated
from ownership of. the common interest.-

My boyfriend told me to write your column about a•problem .
that is sure bothering the heck out of me, so here goes!
He let r'ne• drive his the
the other night, but .'I don't have a
driver's license and the trouble is, that we were involved in an
accident.
We had only gone about a block when a car went through li red
light and smashed into us. It was the car's fault, but since I
-was driving without a license would I tie . considered.
automatically at fault? What will happen to me how?
Just because you were driving without a license does not mean
that you'll be blamed -?or an accident that was obviously
someone else's fault.
You will, however, be charged under the Highway Traffic Act .
for driving without a license. This will probably entail the im- -
position of a fine. '
We hope that by now both of you have learned your lesson and
that you realize how stupid your actions were. It's :very for,
tunate that the blame in this case, appardntly, lies with the other
.party. I.t could justas easily have been the reverse, and then thhe
consequencesiwould have 'been very very serious indeed!.
