1Viost of us have had that
quiet, lovely experience„ of
sitting, beside a pool or small
lakepin summer watching the
trees, the clouds, ,the sky
tieing reflected in the water.
A photographer friend of
mine has many beautiful
slides' taken in the Muskoka.
Georgian Bay area, of rocks
along a Shoreline reflected in
still :waters, So perfect are
'they that you can turn the
photographs upside down and
not be able to discern.which is
reflection• and which
reality:
•Many .of us, I'm- sure, have
had' times in our lives when
we Wondered which were
merely"the re°flectio'ns of the
real th-i-gs.
The world has: "become
topsy-turvy and upside down
and we have lmost lost the'
faculty for knowing when it is
right side up. We get lost in
this world of "pressure. and
sed....nothing seems to:be.
clear cut •anymore. Our.
minds and'bodies grow weary
and our sense of perception
less keen.
Under"such stress 'We are
rendered, • iricapable -of
judging the true°values of life:.
We -cannot see things ob-
jectively. Life looks 'like a
grey n ass . '. , like an un-
developed negative. It has
neither colour' nor clear-cut.
outlines, and we have- the
feeling it lacks something.
It• needs the touch-of—the
Master Photographer's hand
to bring up thebeauty and the
• outlines` so -that we may:.
distinguish the concrete from
the abstract, the real froth
the images,

of us have emerged from the
darkroom with d' clearer
picture of life There, we have
learnecl the difference.. bet-
ween the realities: and the
reflections. • •
And getting back to
reflections, still ' waters! ai-e _
not•primarily created just,to
•reflec't the beauty of the world
about them and the sky above
them.. God created them -to.
cleanse, to nourish and to
sustain the creation and the
creatures, and to•symholize
in the natural -sphere what
Christ, the Living Water, can,
mean to our- souls.,'
As the still waters hri•ng
beauty, growth and fruit-
fulness to the Wor•ld.of nature,
so,. Christ 'brings• life and
beauty to us. It is He who
leads me beside the still
- waters and restoreth my
soul.' It is only He who has the
power to lead anyone. to .the
fountain, of •living water. '
Thcre•is no other source of.
life than the rich, dear, cool,
sparkling, nourishing,
sustaining•, water. that
cleanses, nurtures and.,.
heautifies as the water .flows

best friend... No, even together
they couldn't lift -it,
H14 bestfriend suggested
that he go to see "The 'One"
who lived. on .the highest •
mountain he was supposed
to. be. very, very streing. But
the car builder hadn't had
much to do with "The One"
and he didn't feel like asking
hint. But his :friend en-
couragecrhim and finally..he
went to ask.
"The One" said sure and in
notime at all..they each lifted
their corner.and.had the dior
in' place, The .next day they
took off and in three days
safely r, eached the coast and
their own people. -
We are quite a. distance
-away from where we are
going also, and between us
and where we are su'pposedto
end .up, ' heaven 'l'here are
plenty of people (who aren't
really going that wayj that
:would like to stop us. They
don't really mean to stop -us
but they -have become
distracted with the things
afound, caught:by pleasure, '.
money, alcohol,; confusion,
and they want company. So
they try to get everyone else
