The rights to produce the works
of Ralph Conner for the screen have
been secured by a film corporation.
"The Foreigner" will be the first to
be produced.
Two rinks of bowlers were in Clin-
ton on Friday attending a tourna-
ment. The "Big Four" were success-
ful in getting inside the money, win-
ning third place and receiving cut
glass cream and sugars. They were
Wood, Stewart, Taman and Seldon.
This rink won four games. Their
plus score entitled them to third
place. The other rink was Harness,
Rivers, Trumper and Snell. A Blyth
rink won first and St. Marys second.

Something new this year in con-
nection with London's Exhibition
will be the issuing of a catalogue of
the Live Stock Entries. In order to
do this the Management will be ob-
liged to close the entries at an ear-
lier date than previous years. All
Live Stock entries will therefore
close on Saturday, September 4th.
This rule will be .strictly enforced
and late entries will have to be re-
fused. Will all Live Stock Exhibitors
kindly note this and make their en-
tries early. The Prize List especially
in the cattle department has been in-
creased considerably and it is fully
expected that this year's Exhibition
will be the best ever held in London.

Mr. Wes, Jones and family have
moved to town from near Crediton
and are occupying the residence of
Mr, and. Mrs. Wickwire and Miss
White, on Main street, until such
times as they will. be able to move
into the residence they recently pur-
chased .from B. W. F. Beavers. Mr.
Beavers is erecting a modern bun-
galow on the corner of Gidley and
Main streets.

Prof. John Duxburg, the English
Elocutionist, gave one of his cele-
brated recitals in James street Meth-
odist church Tuesday •evening. The
occasion was a decided success.
Prof. Duxbury has rare gifts as a
reader and his different numbers
were greatly appreciated. Musical
numbers were given by Mrs. Wright,
Mis V. Coates, and Mr. Esli Hey-
wood.
Rev. W, G. H. McAllister, of Rid-
getown, Ont., ex -president o£' Lon-
don Methodist Conference, was the
preacher at Young Methodist church
yesterday morning. Rev. Mr. 1VIcA.l1i-
ster and wife arrived in Winnipeg to
attend the marirage of their son, Dr.
