ROME, July 8.—"After five days
of uninterrupted struggle," says a
late official communication, "the en-
emy was completely driven on to the
left bank of the New Piave Saturday

The Italian troops on the southern
end of the Piave line, having driven
the Austrians across the New Piave,
are establishing thetnselves in the
extensive region between the new and
old river beds, which the Austrians
were compelled to evacuate, Sunday's
War Office statement shows. The

the troops 'which won the pronounced
success that has been achieved.
