St. Nicholas visited Kingsbrii.Lge school
Two infants were welcomed to the Chris-
tian Community recently at St. Joseph's.
They are Cody James, son of Kevin and
Tamra Berry and Corey Rae, son of Dale
and Betty Farrish. Congratulations to the
happy and proud parents.
The last week of school for the children
was an active and happy one. On Wednes-
day the entire school -travelled to The Park
Theatre in Goderich for a special stowing •of
Harry and the Hendersons which was en-
joyed by everyone. Thursday evening saw
the presentation of the annual Christmas
Concert. It was an exceptionally good per-
formance greatly enjoyed by parents and
many members of the community. Old St.
Nick himself distributed candy canes and
wishes for a Merry Christmas to all children
present.
Rather than having a gift exchange the
children, in the true spirit of Christmas

were asked to bring in canned goods as a
donation to Friendship House in Goderich.
As well a silver collection was donated to
The Holy Childhood organization. Beau
Rigling was the lucky winner of the Ginger-
bread House everyone had a chance to buy
tickets for. The proceeds from the draw are
going to Mission Hope.
Friday saw the ceremonies for the last
week of Advent take place in the gym. in
charge for the last week was Phil Antonio's

readings, presentation and explanation of
a Jesse Tree prepared by the Grade 7 and
8's. The singing of a Christmas hymn and
the lighting of the fourth candle represen-
ting the final week of Advent.
Father Ed was also present and offered a
prayer and extended Best Wishes for a Hap-
py & Holy Christmas Season.
Following an early dismissal on Friday
the children are now excitingly waiting for
the Big Day itself. For many it will begin
with the beautiful Midnight Mass preceeded
by a presentation in song at 11:40 by St.
Joseph's Parish Choir to which they belong.
During this festive season I wish to take
this opportunity to wish my readers all the
peace, joy and happiness of the Christlrias
season and health and happiness in the New
Year.
Caplan asks committee to reassess dental needs
Health 11uster Elinor Caplan has re-
quested the Advisory Committee on Dental
Care to reconvene and assess the dental
care needs of Ontario residents over the age
of 65.
"Many elderly Ontario residents are
financially unable to receive necessary den-
tal treatment," Ms. Caplan said. "This
study should provide the necessary
research to help us develop an effective, ac-
cessible dental care program for those in
need."
The advisory committee will use the
following terms of reference:
• To review and assess available informa-
tion on dental status of Ontario residents ag-
ed 65 and older, and assess the availability,
accessibility and adequacy of current pro-
grams in meeting these needs.
• To get goals for the restoration and
maintenance of dental health for this age
group, and identify priority target groups
where assistance is most needed and most
effective.
• To define essential basic dental care
(preventive and curative) services and pre-
sent options for possible delivery
mechanisms that could be used to provide.
services to the target groups identified.
Dr. T.W. Hicks, director of dental services
for Simcoe County and Muskoka -Parry
Sound Health Units, is advisory committee
chairman.
The committee /
Q talready has represen-
tatives from the ario Dental Association,
Ontario Society of Public Health Dentists,
the two faculties of dentistry and the
Ministry of Health.
Additions to the advisory committee Will
be representatives from the United Senior
Citizens of Ontario, the Office of Senior
Citizens Affairs, the Ministry of Community
and Social Services and the Canadian Life
and Health Insurance Association.
