Students busy prior to Christmas
Grade 1-2 were very busy making
Christmas lists, folders and crafts and they
wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
Grade 2-3 are very proud of their com-
pleted Christmas folders. They all have
books to read on the holiday and are anx-
iously awaiting the arrival of Saint Nick.
Mr. Sanders' Grade 3-4 class have recent-
ly completed a computer unit on the Koala
Pad. The stored pictures will be printed out
and given to the children.
Grade 5-6 have been working as hard as
ever lately. We have been continuing with
our unit on mammals and working very
hard on many special crafts for Christmas.
We have survived the concert and enjoyed
our Christmas movie and skating very
much; We're looking forward tua busy and
enjoyable 1988. Merry Christmas from
Grade 5-6 to all of their parents and grand-

need you.

ed all morning, the roads were bad, but the
real shocker was the six hour power failure.
Without light, heat and water the normal
functions of the school were forced to shut
down.
Merry Christmas to all from the Grade 6-7
class.
Along with Christmas activities, the
Grade 8s have been trying to finish up a pro-
blem solving unit in Math. They have also
been studying early pioneer life and hope to
have their assignments completed before
Christmas break.
Each day of the week before Christmas
break, the entire student body gathered in
the gym at 8:55 a.m. to sing Christmas
carols. They have also been learning the
true meaning of Christmas by bringing gifts
to be distributed to needy families within the
township. On Friday, the Salvation Army
picked up the childrens gifts for
distribution.
The Colborne students council sponsored
a Christmas dance on December 16 which
was well attended. The admission price
allowed the kids a bottomless cup of orange
and two candy canes. Everyone had a great
time.

Why Attend Church?
Often, people will say they do not attend church because they can wor-
ship just as well by sitting alone and meditating about things spiritual.
While it may do something for the meditator, it does very little for others.
Being an example and an inspiration to others, is a large part of the value
in -attending public worship services.
When you go to church, you tell others that worshipping is important
to you. Worshipping in a group of like-minded Christians can serve to
strengthen the faith of all those around you.
Jesus Christ called his followers to be witnesses. There is no greater
witness than to be diligent in public worship, self-discipline and every day
example of your faith.
