Diabetic Drop In Centre sponsored by the
Goderich Lioness Club will be held

their annual Christmas Party featuring
singer Grant Ellison at the McKay Hall in
Goderich. Everyone welcome.

The Goderich Rotary Club announces A
CHANGE IN DATE for the Christmas con-
cert, "Festive Sounds of the Season" with
Howard Cable conducting Orchestra Lon-
don Canada with the G.D.C.I. Jazz Choir as
featured guest artists. The date has been
changed from Thursday, December 17, 1987
to Sunday, December 20 at 7:45 p.m. and
will take place at Goderich District Col-
legiate. The concert features many
Christmas favourites: The "Nutcracker
Suite", Deck the Halls, Carol of the Drum,
Jingle Bells, Parade of the Wooden Soldiers,
and ending with a Christmas Carol
singalong with the audience — a pro-
gramme guaranteed to put one and all in the
Christmas spirit. This concert is sponsored
by the Sully Foundation. Tickets are
available from King's, Campbell's, or from
any Rotarian.

Bethlehem Live - A `'drama depicting the
Nativity scene including live animals. Park-

Orchestra London concert date is changed.
The Goderich Rotary Club and the Sully
Foundation presents Orchestra London
Canada in a Christmas concert- "Festive
Sounds of the Season." The date has been
changed from December 17 to December
20, at 7:45 p.m. at the Goderich District
Collegiate Institute. Due to double booking
by Orchestra London.
Internationally acclaimed conductor,
Howard Cable will lead Orchestra London
in a spectacular program which features
an array of Christmas favorites, including
several numbers with the G.D.C.I Jazz
Choir.
Conductor, composer, arranger Howard
Cable has been a leading figure in
Canada's musical life ever since he carne
into prominence arranging and conducting
for CBC Radio in the forties. For CBC -TV
he scored and conducted the variety series
Showtime. For fifteen years he was
musical director of the Canadian National
Exhibition and producer of theatrical
presentations for General Motors of
Canada.
On Broadway, he arranged for Richard
Rodgers and Meredith Willson, conducted
CHU CHEM and The Man of La Mancha.

with the symphony orchestras of Toronto,
Hamilton, Windsor, Regina, Calgary, Ed-
monton, and Vancouver.
In addition to hid conducting schedule,
Cable arranges for the Canadian Brass,
the Elmer Iseler Singers and
Quintessence, and is director of the
Howard Cable Brass Fnsernhk
"Festive Soundsof the Season" is the
first of a two-part Winter Concert Series to
be presented in Goderich. The second con-
cert, "Jeans and The Classics"- hits of the
60's, 70's and 80's- will take place on
February 19, 1988 at 7:45 p.m. with special
guests the G.D.C.I. Harrowgate_ Concert
Band.

bell's or from any Rotarian, and at the

Guelph University receive
Blyth Festival Archives
The Blyth Festival archives are the
latest to join the University of Guelph's ex-
tensive theatre collection. Programs,
posters, prompt scripts, pictures and
sound tapes from the festival are being ad-
ded to a collection that includes material
from the Shaw Festival and several Toron-
to theatres, among them CentreStage,
Tarragon, Young People's Theatre,

way to becoming a major research collec-
tion for students and faculty. They are

English students at Guelph and scholars
from elsewhere in Canada and the United
States.
