Bell of Goderich. Fr. Pluto officiated the ceremony. Jerry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Wilder of RR 1 Zurich and Susan is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Bell of RR 2 Goderich. Maid of honor was Evelyn Bell of Edmonton. Bridesmaids were LeeAnn Bazinet of JoBettre, Quebec; Sylvia Smale of RR 1 Zurich; and junior bridesmaid Kathleen Bell-Bazinet of Joliet- tre, Quebec. :;est man was Lionel Wilder Jr. Ushers were Jeff Wering of Kippen; Walter Vermount of Zurich; Scott Bell of RR 2 Goderich; and, Cecil Regier of Zurich. Following a reception at the Hensall Coin- munity Centre, the couple left for a trip to the Bahamas. They are residing at RR 2 Zurich. She was born in Fort Nelson General„ Hospital, November 7, 1987, and weighed 8 lbs. 7 ozs. Proud grandparents are Isobel and Dave MacDonald and Ettabelle and Bill Bradley. BRANDON ROBERT JAMES YOUNG Brandon Robert James Young, infant son of Robert and Heather (Jewell) Young, died at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital on Wednesday, Dec. 9. Surviving besides his parents are one sister, Jana, at home; grandparents Robert and Enid Jewell of Colborne Township and Lorrine Young of Goderich; his great- grandmother Mrs. Elma Young of Goderich and aunts. and uncle Mary and Fred Pellow and Janice Young, all of Goderich. A private family service was held at the McCallum and Palla Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Tombs of Victoria Street United Church officiating. Interment Maitland Cemetery. MURRAY ALEXANDER WATT Murray Alexander, . Watt, of Maitland Manor, died at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital Wednesday, Dec. 10 at the age of 74. Born in Toronto, June 15, 1913, he was the son of the late Alexander William Watt and the former Maude Georgina Burwell. He was a retired final inspector at the Ford Motor Company, an adherent North Street United Church, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 109 in Goderich. Surviving are one daughter Joan (Mrs. Herbert Saulnier) of Sudbury, son Laurie Watt and his wife Jean of Streetsville, son Glen Watt and his wife Jane of Burlington; sisters Alma (-Mrs. John Bramfitt) of Mississauga and Eva (Mrs. Henry Gross) of RR 6 Goderich. Seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. He was predeceased by his Wife the former Minnie Venita Burwell. The Royal Canadian Legion and Ladies Auxiliary held a memorial service on Fri- day evening. The funeral service was held at the McCallum and Palla Funeral Home of Saturday, Dec. 12 with Rev. Robert 0. Ball of North Street United Church officiating. -Pallbearers were son Laurie Watt, Henry Gross, Alvin Blackwell, Don . Kernick, Maurice Wilkinson and George DeJong. Interment Maitland Cemetery. MRS. DONNA BAUER Mrs. Donna Bauer, of Goderich, died at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital Sunday, Dec. 13 at the age of 47. Born in Goderich May 3, 1940, she was the daughter of the late James McMillen and former Olive Fuller. Surviving are her husband Kenneth H. Bauer and children Laurie and Larry, both at home. Also surviving are one sister Mrs. OBITUARIES Douglas (Lois) Kerr of Dungannon and two step brothers Colin and Kenneth, McMillen, both of Goderich. There was no funeral home visitation or funeral service. MRS. M. NNE MILLEY Mrs. M. June Milley, of Goderich, died at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital on Sunday, Dec. 13. She was born in Goderich the daughter of the late Robert John Williams and the former Clara Monk. Surviving are her husband, E. Wallace Milley and one son Michael and his wife Diana of Goderich. Also surviving are three sisters, Marjorie (Mrs. Meredith Wilson) of Goderich, Ramona (Mrs. Frank Gabler) of Mitchell and Marilyn (mrs. Louis Marsh) of Goderich; four brothers Robert Williams, John Williams and William Williams all of Goderich and DonaldWilliams of Forest. She was predeceased by one sister Doris (Mrs. Allan Grant) and one brother Charles Williams. The funeral service was held at the Mc- Callum and Palla Funeral Home Wednes- day, Dec. 16 with Rev. Robert Johnson of Knox Presbyterian Church officiating. Pallbearers were Ron Sproul, Don McDougall, Mike Jeffrey, Leo Baker, Mike Pottle and Randy Hugill. Interment Maitland Cemetery. HARVEY JOHN FINNIGAN Harvey John Finnigan died Saturday, Dec. 13, in Clearwater, Florida, at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his wife Elsie (Kruger\ Finnigan; one step -son, Jerry Shields, of Trenton, Michigan; three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Habel, and Mrs. Erma Anderson, both of Goderich and Mrs. Alvin (Cora) Sherwood, of Dungannon; a sister-in-law Mrs. Georgia Finnigan, Mississauga and a number of nieces and nephews. Finnigan was predeceased by his first wife, Laura Shields, and brother Everett Finnigan. A funeral service will be conducted at the Neely Funeral Home, Livonia, Michigna. ' The same place 23,000 other women looked and then joined the Federated Women's Institutes of Ontario (FWIO). Since 1897, Women's Institute has been an educational organization promoting personal growth and community action. 1987 has been a year to celebrate 90 years of achievements, to decide where the organization stands today and to build for tomorrow. FWIO President, Mrs. Margaret Munro, welcomed the Executive and 34 Provincial Board Directors to the Annual Board Meeting held in Toronto from Nov. 16-20, 1987. Attending for the first time was recently hired FWIO Executive Secretary, Mrs. Anna Jackson. Four Provincial Officers were elected at this meeting and nine new Provincial Board Directors were ratified. FWIO is an educational organization. Therefore, learning is of primary impor- tance and is encouraged at all levels. Fif- teen FWIO MacDonald Awards valued at $300 each will be - available in 1488 to students from Ontario admitted to the se- cond semester at the college of Family & Consumer Studies, University of Guelph. application forms may be procured from the Assistant Registrar at the University. Women's Institute Branches present scholarships, medallions, plaques, awards at graduations and prizes/awards ,at science fairs, public speaking competi- tions, music festivals and sports events. They also fund daycare centres, nursery and playschools, 4-H Clubs; sponsor swim- ming classes and an annual bicycle rodeo which stresses safety; initiate adult courses on crafts, homemaking skills and even second languages. Many Women's In- stitute members act as volunteer leaders for both 4-H Clubs and Adult Courses. A Provincial Leadership Development Conference will be held at Queen's Univer- sity, Kingston from Mai 13-15, 19;..; with the theme "Educate/Initiate". Concert date is changed The Goderich Rotary Club announces a change in date for the Christmas concert, "Festive Sounds of the Season" with Howard Cable conducting Orchestra Lon- don Canada with the GDCI Jazz Choir as feattired guest artists. The date has been changed from Thurs- day, Dec. 17 to Sunday, Dec. 20 at 7:45 p.m. and will take place at Goderich District Col- legiate. The concert features many Christmas favorites.
