The. Debbie Hopper rink from Wingham was the A division winner, defeating Bel- mont and Ripley in the doubleknockout format. The Wingham team consisted of Debbie Hopper at skip, Shirley McKeg at vice, Marg Allison second, and Janet Haines, lead. The Goderich team, skipped by Vickie Culbert made it to the semi- finals in B division, but lost to the eventual B division winners from Kincardine. The team had Anne Burton skip, Barb Kester vice, Gail Gingras second and Gail McIn- tosh lead. Both the A and B division winner will now move on to Tilbury on Dec. 12 and 13 for the Regional Finals. Teams remain undefeated Teachers have a favorite explanation that they use when they make a mistake putting something on the board. "I just did it to see if you were paying attention!" they will say! Well, who was paying attention to last week's curling report? Did you notice that we reversed the score between Gardiners and Super Shell? It should have been Jeff Harrison's Super Shell team that scored the big ends to take a 10-3 win from Gar - diners. Now, see if you can spot this week's "intentional" error.... There are still only two undefeated tearns in the Thursday Night Industrial League competition, but Glen Falkner's Union team had a big scare before they won their game. The 1863 Sliders were one down coming home against Dixies Flower Power, but managed to take two and win by a 7-6 score. The Frightening Foresters didn't have the same difficulty, as they put away Gar - diners in a 16-3 rout. Chris Connor and his GDCI 9 to 3er team walked all over the Super Shell squad by a 10 - 1 score, while Jim Bell's Legion Leaders did much the same thing to hose the Firemen, 11-2. The Sheppardton Shufflers avenged their loss of last week by soundly defeating the Healthy Hackers 11-4. The Lady Foresters rocketed away with an 8-3 win ON THE ROCKS at the Maitland over Floyd Herman's Hurlers, and the V & G grippers got back on the winning streak by soundly whipping the Port Albert Ice Cube 12-5. One game ended in a default as the Sifto team was unable to ice enough players, giving up a loss to the Ruthless Rookies. CHRISTMAS FUN NIGHT On December 17th, the traditional "Christmas Fun Night" will have prizes for the ."Most .Unusual" and "Most Original" way of exhibiting the Christmas Spirit on the ice. That means, says organizer Laurie Paquette, that dressing up, or singing Christmas songs, or making a display to carry with you on the ice will be the order of the evening. The games will still count in the stan- ding, but George Sutton will be on hand to act as an impartial judge for the "Spirit Awards". Food and goodies will be on hand to help with the socializing before and after your game, so come on out, bring down your spouse, and join in the fun Dec. 17th!
