Hi everyone!
Another year has flown past and I'll be
celebrating my fourth birthday on Thurs-
day, December 3rd. I enjoy playing with my
friends and going to nursery school. To help
me celebrate my birthday I'm having a par-
ty. with Mom and Dad (Janet & Perry), my
'J
brother Kyle and a few of my friends. I'd
like to wish Stacey and Michelle happy bir-
thday too.
See you next year
Love,
Bradley Wood

the gas barbecue cleaned up and ready to
hawk."
I lost an entire university tuition fee at
Fort Erie Race Track one summer and I
suffered a certain amount of bitterness
back then too. But at Fort Erie you could
tell the jockey in loud language what he
might do with his cute little cap and
whip. At the family dinner table I can on-
ly pass notes - "Did your husband bet the
mortgage money on Hatfield in the New
Brunswick election? It looked like his
kind of cinch."
No, if there's one thing Mr. Burns and
the stock market have taught me, it's to
put your savings in a safe place - like
mattresses or tin cans buried in the
backyard.
As I set out to explain - a Depression is
not all that bad. Going door-to-door offer=
ing to chop wood for last night's table
scraps can be fun. And the best thing, is,
the guys you meet in box cars don't talk
stocks.
And I now know why "her husband"
whispered. If my mother had overheard
him dispensing this kind of fatal financial
advice to her boy Billy, she'd have decaf-
feinated his coffee with rat poison.

The co-op program sees students spending
part of their school working in the communi-
ty, at various jobs. For some, the co-op pro-
gram helps determine future career plans.
For others, it makes the restrictions of the
traditional school setting more tolerable.
Mr. Parr explained, "Students who were
at risk, even a bad risk, came through in
their co-op placements. ,The program has
encouraged the students. It added respon-
sibility to their school day."
The program has successfully helped
keep students in school and at the same time
dA,Uwed them tile opportunity to break away
from the confines of the classroom.
"Some kids just can't stand being in class
and being ordered around for six hours a
day," Mr. Parr noted.
Other programs like student contracts,
the job re-entry program and the in -school
suspension system have all been designed to
provide educational oportunities for the
diverse student population at CHSS.
The high school in Clinton is working at a
two -fold by providing flexible programming
to accommodate special needs groups and
at the same time maintaining its traditional
role as a learning centre. ra`
