Residents entertained with music
Birthday greetings to Mr. George
Gregg, of Maple Grove Lodge who is
presently in hospital.
The Entertainers with Gord Hanson,
Lorraine Madge and ,Tony Hyde once
again provided an enjoyable afternoon of
music and song. This popular group is one
of the 'regulars' and the residents ap-
preciate their visits.
Films continue to be popular with nature
and travel being the top favourites. This
month "The Living Arctic" showed how
much activity there is in the Arctic with its
bird and animal population and profusion
of wild flowers during the short but sunny
summer season. The other film was
"Waterloo Farmers". This film told about
the Mennonite farmers in the Kitchener -
Waterloo area, a number of ,whom still
farm using horses instead of tractors.
A ride through the countryside was en-
joyed by a number of residents. This time
the drive was through West Wawanosh
Township and everyone was interested to
see the Amish farmers harvesting corn
with three horses on thecorn binder and
the' wagbn taking the loads of corn to the
barn.
A number of Residents attended Bieck
Pharmacy's "Customer Appreciation
Day". Thanks to the pharmacy for pro-
viding bus transportation. Cake, coffee
and entertainment made for a very en-
joyable visit.
Some of the residents are attending pro-
grams at .MacKay Centre, just down the
street from Maple Grove Lodge. The re-
cent variety was a popular evening and a
number of residents walked over to this
event.
The Pentecostal Church held their
regular Sunday service and the Salvation
Army continues to make regular visits.
Mrs. Ida Snyder recently ,returned from
a five day trip with Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Matheson to Agawa Canyon near Sault Ste.
Marie, to view the fall colours.
Helen Johnston from 'New Horizons'
met with the residents to discuss applying
for a New Horizon grant. She explained the
goals .of the grogram and Residents are
planning to form a committee to apply for
funds to purchase recreational equipment.

Dear J.S.:
You should be happy to help your sister,
but ask your parents if you could do some of
those things instead of all of them. Think of
the times she might have helped you.

How do you keep 3 kids out of your room'^
