BIA invites -you to
have lunch with Santa
It's December already!
Clinton and area has had its first snow
storm of the season, villages and towns have
their streets decorated and even some
residents have their homes decked out for
the festive season.
As usual, stores have decorated their win-
dows with bright colors, highlighting some
of their more seasonal items.
In general, everyone seems to be getting
into the Christmas spirit one way or
another.
For parents of youngsters, you've pro-
bably been busy fielding questions about the
famous Santa Claus. If you're afraid this
will keep up for the next month, the Clinton
Business Improvement Association (BIA)
may have discovered a way- to solve your
problem.
On Saturday, November 5, children will
have the opportunity of asking Santa all of
those questions in person when he stops to
have lunch at the town hall in Clinton.
And to top things off, Santa is invited all
the children in the area to join him for hot
dogs, chocolate milk and popcorn. Also on
this day will be a magic show, clowns, and
as an added treat, bags of candy. All of this
for only $1. (Tickets available at
Stedman's. )
So, let Santa enjoy the company of your
children for an afternoon. And don't forget,
parents are welcome too.
Shopping hours extended
for town shoppers
For those who plan to take advantage of
deals offered by Clinton merchants, you
should be aware that business hours will be
extended for convenience purposes.
As of December 14, stores will remain
open until 9 p.m., with the exception of
Saturday, December 19 when they will lock
the doors at either 5:30 or 6 p.m.
These hours will remain in effect until
December 23.
On Christmas Eve, the stores will lock
their doors when they feel all of the last
minute shoppers have finished their bargain
hunting. Afterall, store . owners and
employees will want to enjoy the festive
season at home or take a trip t be with
relatives too.
