Clinton and area has had its first snow storm of the season, villages and towns have their streets decorated and even some residents have their homes decked out for the festive season. As usual, stores have decorated their win- dows with bright colors, highlighting some of their more seasonal items. In general, everyone seems to be getting into the Christmas spirit one way or another. For parents of youngsters, you've pro- bably been busy fielding questions about the famous Santa Claus. If you're afraid this will keep up for the next month, the Clinton Business Improvement Association (BIA) may have discovered a way- to solve your problem. On Saturday, November 5, children will have the opportunity of asking Santa all of those questions in person when he stops to have lunch at the town hall in Clinton. And to top things off, Santa is invited all the children in the area to join him for hot dogs, chocolate milk and popcorn. Also on this day will be a magic show, clowns, and as an added treat, bags of candy. All of this for only $1. (Tickets available at Stedman's. ) So, let Santa enjoy the company of your children for an afternoon. And don't forget, parents are welcome too. Shopping hours extended for town shoppers For those who plan to take advantage of deals offered by Clinton merchants, you should be aware that business hours will be extended for convenience purposes. As of December 14, stores will remain open until 9 p.m., with the exception of Saturday, December 19 when they will lock the doors at either 5:30 or 6 p.m. These hours will remain in effect until December 23. On Christmas Eve, the stores will lock their doors when they feel all of the last minute shoppers have finished their bargain hunting.
