Mrs. Cameron's Kindergarten students
made Santa heads to help them count down
the days until Christmas. They also
welcome Jackie Godfrey to their class.
The Dinosaur Den Science Lab is learn-
ing about water and how to do ex-
periments. They've done four of them
already! In an experiment you need Ques-
tion, Toold, Method, Predicton and
Results. There are 14 clues and three in-
gredients in their potion now: pencil shav-
ings, mouthwash and striped toothpaste.
They are still hunting for more clues to
change the frog back into a princess.

SENIOR NEWS
On Nov. 21, Mrs. Tebbutt's grade 6 class
started doing road mapping centres. The
centres were for Social Studies. They also
had to draw road signs andfind co-
ordinate points for towns in Southwestern
Ontario. In Math, they graphed towns and
cities in Southwestern Ontario that
students had visited.
Mrs. Allan's grade 7 class is writing In-
dian legends and myths, and sending them
to Basil Johnson from the ROM to read.
They are also finishing their individual
assignments on famous Indians. They also
had a math test on decimals and fractions.
They finished their study of latitude in
geography and they are now doing North
America.
The grade 8's received report cards on
November 23. On Nov. 25 they enjoyed a
well deserved PD day. They watched the
movie of Johnny Tremain on Thursday at
the end of the study of the novel. Finally,
on Friday they had an English test about
Johnny Tremain.

The Brookside Broadcast editors are
sponsoring a Christmas writing contest for

and stories. Black and white pictures are
accepted also.
For kindergarten to grade 2 the topic is
letters to Santa. The topic for grades 3-5 is
draw a map of Santa's house or other
North Pole features. Grades 6-8 may write
a Christmas legend, an acrostic poem or
draw a toy making machine and explain
how it works.
All entries must be in to the Brookside
editors by Dec. ,15.
A prize will be awarded to all entries and
one grand prize will be awardec' in each
division.

Our principal along with some student
volunteers spent two recesses picking up
broken glass.
Some people smashed a whole case of bot-
tles against our play equipment. We want
our playground to be a fun place so please do
not pollute our school yard or make it a
dump for your garbage.
